Systems Engineer
Location: Keyport, WA
Help Deliver Mission Critical Technology for the U.S. Navy
Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Keyport. In this role, you will help plan, coordinate, and execute the integration of hardware and software solutions within a secure IT environment that supports the Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Operations Center (UUVOC). Working closely with government leadership and cross functional technical teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring complex systems are successfully integrated, tested, and deployed in support of critical Navy missions.
Program Timing: This position supports an upcoming proposal opportunity with an anticipated September start.
What You'll Do
As a Systems Engineer, you will:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of hardware and software integration efforts within a secure IT environment.
- Collaborate with government leadership and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of integrated system solutions.
- Prepare and deliver clear status updates, technical briefings, and reports for government leadership and project stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical concepts into concise, actionable documentation and communications for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Support the full system lifecycle, including integration planning, system testing, phased deployments, implementation, and transition activities.
- Document technical designs, integration plans, implementation activities, and system configurations.
- Facilitate technical working groups, coordinate across multiple stakeholder organizations, and help drive issue resolution and technical decision making.
- Help ensure integration activities align with cybersecurity, operational, and mission requirements.
- Support end user training and knowledge transfer activities during system implementation.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 6+ years of experience.
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility or active TS/SCI.
- Current DoD 8140 compliant certification such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA.
- 3+ years of professional experience integrating hardware and software solutions within networked IT environments.
- Experience implementing solutions using cloud computing services and hosting technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Broad understanding of the full lifecycle for integrating hardware and software into secure IT environments.
- Experience supporting system testing, phased deployments, implementation, and end user training.
- Experience facilitating technical working groups and coordinating efforts across multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with secure system integration planning, implementation, and transition activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Experience preparing technical documentation, leadership briefings, reports, and project status updates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting mission critical IT programs within Department of Defense or other government environments.
