KBR is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer (SE) to support the Customer’s SIGINT office.  We are looking to address future intelligence collection challenges with innovative solutions.  The successful candidate understands the mission needs to overcome development and operations limitations of current systems and can guide revolutionary changes in how the Customer conducts its mission. The Systems Engineer is a technical/engineering professional who performs system or enterprise level systems engineering across the life cycle on complex Space Systems acquisition processes.  The SE provides expert advice and manages systems engineering processes and implementation for System Program Office (SPO)-developed collection system, including space vehicle, payloads, and associated ground command and control elements.  Requires experience in multiple aspects of the program systems engineering life cycle to aid the customer’s SPO in the acquisition, verification and validation, and initialization of current programs.  The position includes requirements management, interface definition, customer engagement, and proposal technical evaluation support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage configuration baseline by overseeing the configuration control boards, engineering review boards, technical review boards, and other control mechanisms.

  • Institute rigorous control processes to document baseline configurations and manage process to implement architectural and process changes in support of the chief engineer.

  • Prepare deviations, waivers, and requests for change (RFCs) for government approval when specifications cannot be met.

  • Submit engineering changes to customers for review and approval; maintain records and submit reports regarding status.

  • Identify and assess impacts on new capabilities, including across internal and external interfaces.

  • Prepares configuration verification audit record sheets for all programs.

  • Coordinate review schedules and timelines with the government customer.

Basic Compensation:

$160,000 - $205,000 USD annually

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Required:

  • Active/Current TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience

  • Experience with JSMART tool suite

  • Understanding of DoD/IC satellite systems and architectures

  • Experience in DoD/IC space systems acquisition, sustainment, and program management processes

  • Have technical and analytic capabilities in systems engineering focused on baseline control

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be independent and effective in a government/contractor team environment

  • Ability to clearly articulate requirements definitions and their dispositions to senior executive government leadership

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in engineering discipline or systems engineering.

  • Understanding of acquisition and operations technology best practices

  • Exposure to the system design trade process, assessing system design options, analyzing mission requirements, monitoring vehicle development, test development/execution, and tracking requirement verification
