Our Electronic Combat Solutions team is seeking proactive Software Engineers to work as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, debug, and test integration tools for EW Systems.
With a focus on delivering innovative Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions on a range of programs, individual technical contributions will include software development, requirements development, integration & test, and test planning and execution in an engineering and deployment support environment.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration, all work will be performed at either Totowa NJ locations full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time. Job Description Summary:
As part of a team, Software Engineers - System Integration serve as the system integrator for Radar Warning (RW) and Electronic Attack Counter Measures (ECM) technology. I&T activities include planning and execution starting from early test concept development through system certification. Integration includes functional simulation, subsystem and system integration and test, verification and validation (V&V), performance evaluation, and acceptance testing. Software / System I&T Engineers leverage multi-disciplinary engineering expertise and collaborate with other Systems Engineers to establish clear, verifiable, and traceable requirements, inform and drive system concepts, architectures, and designs to promote testability, and utilize resident expertise and lessons learned to support the development of highly reliable, robust, and complex systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Become an integral part of a Systems / Software team on EW related programs
- Contribute to System / Software engineering content and work products
- Understand and implement the product development process
- Generate, review and verify software requirements to include operational concepts
- Create system test plans, procedures and reports, execute tool planning
- Perform subsystem and system level integration test of firmware, software and/or hardware components and assemblies
- Communicate information clearly, effectively, orally, written with stakeholders & project team
- Perform data analysis post processing test data using Matlab / Python or other software tools
- Collaborate within systems engineering and across disciplines
- Perform analysis and problem-solving of complex problems
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Skills and Education
- Possess an active DoD Secret security clearance with an ability to obtain TS/SCI clearances
- Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science) and a minimum of 6+ years of work experience
- Experience in MATLAB/Python/Ruby/SQL/Web Development/C#
- Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex programs
- Proficient in effectively documenting, communicating and working with a team on designs, results, reports, and presentations
- Experience with Electronic Warfare systems, Countermeasures, Radar systems and/or RF
- Experience performing systems/software engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test)
- Experience developing viable concept solutions, and identifying and tracking technical risks
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Skills and Education:
- Test automation and working in a product integration lab
- Project / Program team member responsible for workflow, which is dynamic in nature
- Model-based systems engineering experience with tools such as MagicDraw
- Familiarity or experience with Agile Systems Engineering using Jira, Confluence BitBucket, Gitlab
- Active United States Top Secret / SCI security clearance
- Experience with RF Stimulators (CEESIM, A2PATS, etc.)
- Understand RF concepts including antenna patterns, environmental effects, radar range, frequency range issues, spur, harmonics, etc.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $128831 - $219012
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
