Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 3 or 4 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This role can be filled at either Level 3 Principal Systems Engineer or Level 4 Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.
*Please be aware that this position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining associated business and/or customer funding. Additionally, this position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.*
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Work scope covers a range of Systems Engineering disciplines and products including requirements & verification, interfaces, architecture, CAMEO, Model Based Systems Engineering, DOORS administration, and design
-Support development of verification planning/products, test requirements, and other key products
-Assist preparation and execution of milestones
-Role entails collaboration with Space Vehicle Systems Engineering as well as engagement with multiple working groups, key stakeholders, and control boards
-Specifics of responsibilities can be tailored based on the skillset and specific experience of the selected candidate
Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer – Level 3:
-Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5+ years of engineering experience OR
-Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 3+ years of engineering experience OR
-PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 1+ year(s) of engineering experience
-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have active SCI access at time of application with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years and prior to start date OR
-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) at time of application with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years and prior to start date as well as the ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate’s maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer – Level 4:
-Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 8+ years of engineering experience OR
-Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 6+ years of engineering experience OR
-PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 4+ years of engineering experience
-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have active SCI access at time of application with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years and prior to start date OR
-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) at time of application with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years and prior to start date as well as the ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate’s maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Understanding and experience with Model Based Systems Engineering, Cameo Enterprise Architect, and SysML modeling (or equivalent)
-Systems Engineering fundamentals
-Prior spacecraft project experience
-DOORS knowledge & proficiency
-Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
-Strong communication and time management skills
-Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
-Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) clearance along with active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
