The Systems Engineer will support the development and integration of advanced vehicle systems for on-road and off-road applications. Working across engineering disciplines and product development teams, you will help turn customer, product, and regulatory needs into practical system solutions with a focus on future technology and integrated systems.
This role supports technologies such as electro-hydraulic controls, hybrid and electric vehicles, autonomous vehicle systems, advanced suspension systems, connected vehicle systems, material handling systems, and other auxiliary systems and technology. You will contribute to system architecture, concept of operations (CONOPS), system trades and analysis, requirements and interface development, and verification and validation planning and execution.
* This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in the office and two days working from home each week.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Support the development of system architecture, concept of operations, use cases, and vehicle control strategies from early concept through production implementation.
- Translate stakeholder needs, use cases, and architectural decisions into system and subsystem requirements, interfaces, and verification plans.
- Develop vehicle and system-level requirements that support research, regulatory compliance, failure mode analysis, verification, validation, testing, and production readiness.
- Author, review, and release systems engineering documentation using MagicDraw, and similar requirements and architecture management tools.
- Establish and manage requirements traceability, verification baselines, and compliance.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, regulatory, quality, manufacturing, and external project teams to support advanced control development activities.
- Contribute to system analysis and trade studies to evaluate architecture options, interfaces, performance, reliability, and implementation feasibility.
- Help establish and improve systems engineering best practices, processes, templates, and standards for requirements, architecture, interfaces, and verification activities.
- Support requirements, design, architecture, and verification reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, FRR, and related milestones.
- Collaborate with multiple disciplines to identify new, obsolete, or updated regulatory standards, including SAE, FMVSS, EU, and other applicable requirements.
- Apply knowledge of product development processes, lifecycle management, reliability, and design for manufacturing principles.
- Build consensus with stakeholders, customers, and end users to ensure alignment on system needs, technical solutions, and program objectives.
- Support project execution by managing priorities, communicating progress, and completing assigned work on schedule.
- May be responsible for portions of a project of moderate complexity, including schedule, budget, or technical deliverables.
- Support change management activities and communicate project status to senior management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with automotive or vehicle systems.
- Experience with SysML, UML, or similar modeling languages.
- Experience with larger OEM process and procedures.
Pay Range:
$64,500.00 - $103,500.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
