We're looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Devices Systems team based in Sydney and play a key role in supporting the global expansion of our sleep therapy technology.

As a member of the team, you'll focus on the globalisation of a newly released laboratory system for sleep apnoea titration, working with cross-functional teams to adapt and extend the product for international markets. You'll support the product through requirements development, design changes, verification, risk management and regulatory activities, helping ensure it meets the needs of customers, clinicians and patients across different regions.

 What You'll Do
  • Translate user, clinical, business and regulatory needs into clear system requirements and technical solutions to support global product deployment.

  • Collaborate with software, electronics, mechanical, verification, clinical and regulatory teams to support product changes and system integration.
  • Assess regional and market-specific requirements, identifying necessary product adaptations to support international releases.
  • Evaluate system architecture, interfaces and technical design options to ensure compatibility, functionality, performance and reliability.
  • Investigate and resolve system-level technical issues, working across engineering disciplines to identify effective solutions.
  • Support system verification and validation activities, including test planning, execution, results analysis and documentation.
  • Participate in system risk management activities, including risk assessments, hazard analyses and design reviews.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and design evidence required for regulatory submissions and international product releases.
  • Follow established Systems Engineering processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
 What You Bring
  • A Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Software, Mechatronics or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in systems engineering or product development.
  • A sound understanding of engineering principles, systems thinking and structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Experience working with technical requirements, system interfaces, design documentation or verification activities.
  • Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to investigating and resolving technical challenges.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • An ability to work independently on assigned engineering activities while seeking guidance when appropriate.
  • An interest in developing knowledge of medical device regulations, quality systems and product development processes.
 Nice to Have
  • Experience in medical device development or another regulated industry.
  • Experience with engineering development tools such as JIRA, Jama, Confluence or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with integrated hardware and software systems.
  • Familiarity with medical device standards such as ISO 13485, ISO 14971 or IEC 60601
 What Sets You Apart
  • Systems Thinking: Understand how requirements, hardware, software and system interfaces interact to deliver reliable product performance.
  • Collaborative Approach: Build productive relationships and contribute effectively to cross-functional engineering discussions.
  • Quality Focus: Demonstrate attention to detail in engineering documentation, verification and risk management activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, product quality and ways of working.
