Systems Development Specialist
DUTIES:
Analyze and design detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for multiple applications.
Duck Creek Coding and developing applications, integrations and/or configure commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages.
Perform highly complex application coding, testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.
Mentors and serves as a technical resource to teammates with development and the delivery of training programs.
Work effectively within a team culture (with business and IT partners) to define project requirements & interdependencies.
Translate business requirements into system requirements.
Updating system documentation, such as design documents.
Assist in code reviews and code cleanups.
Work closely with the DevOps teams to build needed alerting, dashboards, and automated system healing services and processes.
Support code migration from development to production by leveraging process automation via CICD/DevOps pipeline setup.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related.
Four (4) years in any occupation with experience developing applications using Duck Creek Insurance technologies.
Four (4) years in any occupation with experience developing applications using Duck Creek Insurance technologies must include: Experience with Duck Creek insurance product suites (Policy, Producer, Agency Management, Reinsurance); Experience with systems integration (Policy, Billing, Claims, Reinsurance, third-party systems); Commercial insurance business and insurance terminology; Duck creek product suite (Example Server, Example Express 3, Example Author, Example User Admin, Example Forms, Pages, Rules, Rating, Example Transact and Example Billing, Data Insights, and Integrations), SQL Server, JavaScript, and XML; Experience with DCOD OnDemand; Test case execution/review to ensure functional coverage; Commercial P&C Insurance, including Workers’ Compensation; Development and integration of Web API/Web Services/Microservices; SQL, no-SQL databases, and relational databases and design; Systems analysis and experience producing complex requirements; Agile Methodology; and DevOps tools, Jenkins and Jira, or equivalent Agile tools.
The salary range for this position is $130,603-$159,175 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
