Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented contractor to support the migration of fundraising and constituent data from Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge into a SQL database, preparing the data for an eventual implementation and import into Neon CRM.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, profile, clean, and standardize data from Raiser’s Edge.
  • Design and maintain a structured SQL staging database for migrated records.
  • Map key data fields, including constituent, donation, campaign, event, membership, and relationship data.
  • Identify duplicates, incomplete records, formatting inconsistencies, and data-quality issues.
  • Create documented transformation rules, data dictionaries, and migration workflows.
  • Develop SQL queries/scripts to validate record counts, relationships, and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with staff to resolve data exceptions and confirm business rules.
  • Prepare clean, validated export files and documentation for the future Neon CRM migration.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with Raiser’s Edge data extraction and nonprofit fundraising databases.
  • Strong SQL skills, including data cleaning, transformation, validation, and reporting queries.
  • Experience with CRM or donor-management system migrations; Neon CRM experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit data concepts such as gifts, pledges, households, campaigns, appeals, events, and memberships.
  • Highly organized, discreet, and able to handle confidential donor information.

Deliverables

  • SQL-based staging database and documented schema.
  • Cleaned and standardized migration-ready datasets.
  • Field-mapping/data-dictionary documentation.
  • Data-quality and validation report, including unresolved exceptions.
  • Recommended import structure for eventual Neon CRM implementation.
