The Systems Analyst monitors and controls the network, information security, and desktop software/hardware support needs of the patient care providers and support staff.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend technical language of operating instructions and equipment manuals.  
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel and general public.  
  • Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel including all departments of the facility. 
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing a sound information systems department.  
  • Manual dexterity is required to operate machines quickly and accurately. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of office procedures, maintains confidential materials, establishes priorities and procedures for daily workload and documents any system problems. 
  • Completes special projects in the time frame allotted. 
  • Identify and resolve equipment, system and user errors and problems upon notification.  
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication, reports significant information and all unusual incidents occurring within area of responsibility to management in a timely manner.  
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical conduct as outlined by hospital policy.  
  • Communicates using effective sending and listening techniques so that information in written and verbal form is acknowledged as understood. 
  • Participating in organizational activities and attends in-service opportunities. 
  • Have knowledge of and comply with organizational policies and procedures. 
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.  
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. 
  • Must be able to relate to and work with all individuals within the facility. 
  • Experience in computer hardware/software troubleshooting and repair. 
  • Must be able to operate and service PBX and Support Ticketing systems.

Professional Requirements:

  • Communicates the mission, vision, core values, ethics and goals of the hospital as well as the focus statement of the department. 
  • Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and CMS regulations.  
  • Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times. 
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends rotating on call shifts. 
  • Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, department and staff.  
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on IT or related field.
  • Experience and/or certifications may be accepted in lieu of a college degree.
  • A minimum of six months experience in IT.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Skills:

  • Extensive computer knowledge. Knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve computer issues. Knowledge in Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server, SQL, VMWare, backup software, networking, Information Security, and Hospital EMR systems.  
  • Ability to use all office equipment.

Working Conditions:

Most work is conducted in an office setting requiring extended periods of time in a seated or standing position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Employee may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases, exposed to hazardous cleaning agents, body fluids and waste, occasional exposure to an unpleasant patient or unit elements. Employee will be required to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Employees may be required to exceed these levels and are also provided lift assists in patient care areas.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in information technology or a related field
  • At least six months of IT experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and software
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server, SQL, VMware, backup software, networking, information security, and hospital EMR systems
  • Ability to operate and service PBX and support ticketing systems
  • Ability to comprehend technical operating instructions and equipment manuals
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment, system, and user errors
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret information systems policies and procedures
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
