Great Hill is seeking a Systems Administrator at Carl R. Darnall Medical Center (CRDAMC), Fort Cavazos, TX.
The objective of this work is to provide IM/IT support services. Services include establishing and engaging in providing computer related services (except custom programming, and systems integration design). Tasks also include providing computer disaster recovery services or software installation services, PC troubleshooting, network and cabling, installation/upgrade of software and hardware, end user training, software troubleshooting and data entry support. Connected health, electronic health records, innovative solutions, personal health information management and other health IT services. Services include Program and Project Management – Program Communication and Coordination, Coordinate Security Architecture Installation, Circuit Coordination, IP Data Collection Analysis, Processing and Validation. Operations Cell Management, Business-to-Business VPN Coordination and Data Collection Effort are encompassed in this effort.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide state-of-the-art system administration solutions and support for hardware and software platforms to include Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications that reside on them. The GOTS/COTS hardware/software supported includes application servers, web servers, print servers, virtual file servers, reporting tools, etc., and all tasks associated with their backup/recovery, performance, and operations.
- Prepare Technical Documentation, Briefing Material, Reports and Plans (to include Life-Cycle Management Plan and backups and contingency plans
- Install, maintain, configure, and optimize PC and Network Operating Systems, to include Microsoft, Linux and VMware server operating systems.
- Provide technical support, analysis, data management, and server management to sustain the operational computing environment.
- Design, implement, and maintain policies and procedures in support of, but not limited to, data storage/back-up/recovery, server software and firmware upgrades, and standard server maintenance. Support shall include the design, implementation, and/or on-going sustainment of Microsoft Active Directory and SQL database services to include forest creation, establishment or trust relationship, and account creation and maintenance.
- Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to relevant, state-of-the-art hardware, software, solution sets, etc., to provide innovative solutions and recommendations.
- Provide all areas of Data-Center Program Technical Support to include site assessments, preventive maintenance, and emergency and corrective services. Data-Center Administration shall include datacenter planning and design, power and cooling analysis, feasibility studies, risk assessments, site surveys, energy usage assessments, optimization evaluations, and relocation and consolidation services.
- Develop a comprehensive life-cycle management plan to include a technology implementation roadmap. Data-Center surveys shall include providing the equipment reconfiguration requirements, developing floor plan layouts, estimating bills-of-material, identifying data communication requirements and shortfalls, verifying power distribution and environmental to meet mission critical requirements.
- Be responsible for the management of UNIX, Linux, Solaris, Macintosh, Windows, VMware and other operating systems within Carl R. Darnall Medical Center (CRDAMC). Incumbent shall support and maintain the operating systems, patches, upgrades, and apply IA requirements for all systems within the site. Incumbent shall ensure that these systems are online and available to the site customers and ensure backups and contingency issues are addressed in the event of failures.
- Responds to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users and Service Now helpdesk platform. Responds to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users and DHA Global service Center platform.
- Advise end-users on microcomputer software as well as troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and cabling problems.
- Hands-on end-user assistance in real time.
- Install/replace/move PC and printer components.
- Document all work tickets and their resolution in the ticket system or designated method.
- Identify the remedy used to solve as mandated by the problem to help establish a local knowledge database.
- Collaborate with department heads and leaders to recommend the best use of resources for appropriate use of current technology assets and/or recommendations for new hardware of software that will best fit the user’s or department’s needs.
- Adhere to and enforce IT Security policies.
- Task requires some physical lifting of equipment up to 70 lbs.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS preferred
- Security+ CE

- Knowledge of Military Treatment Facility IM/IT operations
