JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator 

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Infrastructure

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Systems Administrator is a vital member of the IT team with a primary focus on the day-to-day management and support of the Company’s server, cloud, and network infrastructure that spans across multiple sites. This role demands a hands-on approach to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the systems, applications, and network that support core organizational functions across various locations. This position emphasizes operational aspects such as administration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, endpoints, identity services, and network devices. It also involves interfacing with other members of the IT team and liaising with third party providers, adapting systems and network strategies to support the Company’s growth through acquisitions and expansion of infrastructure reach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

           1. Systems Administration and Support

o Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and core business applications to ensure reliable day-to-day operations

o Manager user accounts, groups, permissions, and access controls through Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and Microsoft 365

o Perform routine system administration tasks, including patch management, software updates, backups, and disaster recovery testing to safeguard data and maintain business continuity

o Provide endpoint support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals, including imaging, deployment, and resolution of hardware and software issues

          2. Network Administration and Support

o Assist with the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure across multiple sites and different ISP vendors, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other associated equipment primarily using Meraki technology

o Monitor network and system performance, ensuring availability and reliability, and respond promptly to outages and other issues

o Configure, manage, and troubleshoot RingCentral VOIP services, ensuring optimal performance and reliability

            3. Operational Excellence

o Provide hands-on support for all systems and network-related issues, acting as an escalation point of contact for internal teams and external partners

o Collaborate with IT team members to ensure smooth and reliable operation of servers, software, and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes

             4. Security and Compliance

o Assist in system and network security measures, including managing firewalls, endpoint protection, and regular security audits to protect data and infrastructure

o Support adherence to industry standards and compliance requirements, such as PCI-DSS, through diligent monitoring and documentation

               5. Documentation and Communication

o Maintain detailed documentation for system and network configurations, solutions, and processes

o Coordinate with technology vendors, including Cisco, AT&T, and other service providers, to resolve issues and ensure technology solutions are aligned with business needs and deliver optimal performance

6. All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. A degree in information technology, computer science, network engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field, is preferred

2. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience administering server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), identity and access management (Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID), Microsoft 365, virtualization, and backup/disaster recovery solutions, as well as Fiber circuits, Ubiquiti, and/or Cisco LAN/WAN products

3. Familiarity with system and network monitoring and management tools, as well as security practices and technologies are required

4. Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and understanding of how to administer and integrate cloud services with the existing server, endpoint, network, and VOIP infrastructure to enhance performance, security, and scalability

5. Must have CompTIA Server+ and/or Network+ certifications

6. Must be Microsoft certified in Azure/Microsoft 365 Administrator (or MCSA), CCNA, or have equivalent practical experience

7. Certifications in Microsoft, VMware/Hyper-V, Meraki technologies, or other relevant systems and network management are preferred

8. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively

9. Must have strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members

10. Industry experience in marina, real estate, hospitality, or asset-heavy operating environments is preferred

11. Must have the ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations

12. Must be detail oriented with excellent time management and follow up skills

13. Must have the ability to manage tasks of concurrent projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of various stakeholders

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to fifteen (15) pounds

2. This individual is located in an office environment generally seated at a desk with a chair for multiple hours or may spend most of the workday on his or her feet when on site and traveling to marina locations

3. Must be able to swim or willing to wear a personal floatation device when visiting marina site locations

4. Must be able to travel to marina site locations on occasion as business needs dictate

               5. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently, and squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally

               6. Must be able to operate general computer equipment including laptop, keyboard, desk or cellular phone, or other handheld devices among other varied network related equipment

               7. Must be able to use eyes for the purpose of viewing computer monitors and analyzing data for extended periods of time to include specific vision capabilities required including vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

               8. Must be able to efficiently use ears for the purpose of listening to and analyzing data audibly in order to effectively communicate with various parties

            9. This position may require driving on behalf of the Company on an as-needed, case-by-case basis, including travel to marina locations or other business-related destinations. The team member must meet all Company requirements for authorized drivers, be deemed insurable under the Company’s applicable                    insurance standards, and comply with all applicable Company driving, safety, insurance, and travel policies.
