Job Description

The Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) senior analyst is responsible for supporting operational compliance for the regional entity’s adherence to the NERC CIP Rules of Procedure, Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program, specifically as it pertains to the CIP cyber and physical security. This position also will be responsible for maintaining the Windows OS platform in support of the Energy Management System (EMS). This position reports to the manager of IT compliance. 

Item Accountability % 

1 Perform Technical windows Administration tasks to support the EMS system and Operational compliance. Perform configuration management, Security Controls Testing, password changes. Troubleshooting, change control, disaster recovery, malware prevention, access control. 20 

2 Drive innovation by Automating manual tasks and optimizing service delivery 10

3 Participate in regional entity CIP compliance program spot audits/audits. Perform sufficiency review for evidence of compliance 10 

4 Write Technical & Reference Materials (T&RM) documenting internal processes. 20 

5 Provide CIP support to Compliance Violation Investigations and the Corrective Action Program 5 

6 Provide technical support of all IT departments. 10 

7 Assist in the ongoing development and improvement of NERC compliance monitoring and enforcement program policies, procedures, rules. 10 

8 Support the CIP V5 implementation 10 


9 Support on-call role as necessary 5 

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university. 

• Linux OS Administration An advanced degree and/or studies in information technology, engineering, auditing or risk management preferred. 

• Ability to manage and solve complex problems. Audit or enforcement experience. 

• Ability to work independently 

• Ability to lead 

• Ability to collaborate and influence groups outside of your organization 

• Ability to write technically Proficiency in NERC CIP Reliability Standards. 

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Strong understanding of the bulk power system. 

POSITION SCOPE 

• Performs this service in support of (fill in business area – i.e. Energy Delivery, Real Time, etc). 

• Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
