Purpose:
This role is responsible for supporting, analyzing, and improving Operational Technology (OT) systems and infrastructure that enable electrical operations and utility functions. This includes ADMS (OMS, SCADA, Adv. Systems), Mobile Field Client and OT/IT Integration points such as IVR, AMI etc.
This role serves as a bridge between Operations, Engineering, and Technology teams to ensure OT systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with business and technology objectives. The OT Systems Administrator plays a key role in system integration, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement across operational environments.
The position involves guiding strategy, collaborating on moderately complex projects, partnering on larger initiatives, maintaining critical systems, and resolving production issues in coordination with vendors and subject matter experts.
Key Result Areas:
- Production system support & analysis to ensure application and system availability is maximized, solutions are secured and production service levels are met.
- Troubleshoot OT system issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with internal teams and vendors.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for critical operational systems to minimize downtime and production impact including monitoring system health, log analysis, system recovery and patch/change management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with software vendors and business stakeholders.
- Participate in on-call support rotation
- Research and plan for the application of software patches and implement revision-level upgrades to maintain software reliability and vendor support. Act as the Technical Lead for projects to enhance and modernize Grid and OT capabilities
- Plan the testing requirements for updates and coordinate the user testing and acceptance of changes.
- Lead projects for software upgrades and implementations coordinating with all departments and IT resources involved.
- Educate business on technical capabilities of OT Systems like ADMS, AMI, etc.
- Follow Change Management methodologies and adoption frameworks
- Testing and Quality Assurance of technology solutions including requirements, user acceptance criteria and leading UAT.
- Develop expertise in business system functionality, assess technology capabilities and recommend strategic platform considerations.
- Provide configuration changes to the System Administrator to resolve business issues.
- Attend application user conferences and industry conferences to enable them in their software and strategic planning duties.
- Work with business units to identify business and process requirements to ensure the efficient running of the business.
- Document business processes.

Required Education and Expertise:
- Associate degree in computer sciences or related field.
- Five or more years of hands-on OT / IT infrastructure work including systems like SCADA, ADMS, OMS etc.
- Five or more years of direct user interaction experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or related field.
- Three or more years of hands-on OT / IT infrastructure work including systems like SCADA, ADMS, OMS etc.
- Three or more years of direct user interaction experience
- Current and valid driver’s license
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience supporting ADMS (OMS, SCADA, Adv. Systems), AMI, OT communications, or other electric utility operational platforms.
- Experience in OT systems analysis and problem-solving. Experienced with system quality assurance testing including documenting requirements and creation of test cases
- Experience in Microsoft Power Bi dashboards
- Knowledge of on-prem, hybrid, and cloud platforms
- Basic understanding of electrical grid operations
- Experience with vendor management, working with vendor-based solutions to ensure vendor follow through and support
- Experience in building confidence in project success and technology changes
- Knowledge and basic skill in software development lifecycles and project management.
- Ability to clearly communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing
- Experience with Windows server environments, scripting, and Microsoft Office 365 of products
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
