Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Systems Test Engineer – Level 3 or 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The selected Engineer will support the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Architecture and Delivery (A&D) Automated Test and Verification (ATV) Team and is responsible for developing manual, automation, and systems engineering related test products in support of the GWS contract execution on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
Essential Functions:
You will be expected to build systems engineering and test products assigned by your leadership related to requirement verification efforts at the system level
Candidate develops software and hardware test artifacts in an Agile environment
Candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels.
Basic Qualifications:
Systems Test Engineer Level 3: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years of related work experience, or a PhD. and 1 year of related work experience.
Systems Test Engineer Level 4: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 6 years of related work experience, or a PhD. and 4 years of related work experience.
Experience with components of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - software design requirements, application development, integration, testing, or deployment
Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS
Familiarity with Agile software development using tools like Jira, Confluence, Fisheye/Crucible, and Bitbucket
Experience in developing test artifacts/cases and executing manual test in support of requirements verification efforts
Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
Verification experience or knowledge
Individual must possess good communication skills
Capable of working both independently and within team environments
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance
Must be able to work in office, on site
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience using CAMEO and/or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Principles
Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and data review
Hands-on experience trouble-shooting, building and testing hardware
