System & Technology Specialist, Senior I

The job owner will be responsible for the daily operations and support of all Data Center
infrastructure platforms. These include Windows & Linux Servers, VMware, Storage Systems, Cloud environments with focus on Microsoft Azure, Automation & Self Services, High Performance Computing, and Backup Systems.
He/she will implement, maintain and monitor the environments with 24x7 service level. In addition, the Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design of IT solutions as required to support BorgWarner business needs.
As Senior Engineer he/she will lead IT projects to bring these IT solutions into production. He/she will
ensure that any Data Center systems are fully functional and in compliance with any established SLA and security policy. This is a hands-on technical position reporting to the Manager Operational Services Europe.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Manage, Monitor and Maintain Infrastructure Landscape in BorgWarner.
• Monitoring and Execution of Backup/ Restore & Recovery tasks.
• Handle Infrastructure Hosting related tickets and request within given SLA.
• Standardization and automation of processes

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge

• 3+ Years of experience managing Data Center platforms including Azure cloud services
• Microsoft Windows Server administration including software and hardware
• Configuration and design of Server- and VMware landscapes
• Experiences with Windows operating systems and services
• Experiences with Storage and Backup Systems
• Cloud Skills with focus on Microsoft Azure
• Basic experiences in Linux Server
• ITIL Concepts and policies
• Must possess excellent break/fix troubleshooting skills
• Both a strong verbal and written knowledge of the English language

Skills and Abilities

• Hands on expertise in Windows and Linux Administration
• Good working knowledge with various Operating systems
• Working experience with Cloud Services (Azure)
• Familiar with automation tools like Ansible and Terraform
• Ability to write and utilize Infrastructure as Code and script repeated processes

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experiences:

• BA/BS Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years’ Work Experience as Infrastructure Engineer

Job Requirements:

• Administration of Datacenter Hosting Platforms on Prem and in the cloud
  • Installation and configuration of Windows and Linux systems
  • Maintaining Cloud services like AKS, Universal Printing, Entra ID, Azure Monitor…
  • Monitoring Backup & Execution of Restore/Recovery Tasks
  • Controlling and monitoring of Hosting Platforms including subsystems
  • Supporting the rights and roles framework
  • Meet the service level agreements for hosting operations.
  • Perform after hour maintenance and emergency on call work as needed
  • 2nd Level Support

• Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments
• Ability and desire to continuously learn, grow technology and business skill, and be collaborative and agile in how they work
