The System Engineer is accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. In addition, the role supports business verticals during the Order-to-Remittance (OTR) process by contributing to the development and review of system solutions in collaboration with leadership teams. The position ensures that proposed solutions are technically sound, fit for purpose, and aligned with project requirements, while also identifying, assessing, and managing technical risks and contingencies.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Execute projects by analyzing customer contracts and preparing technical specifications for vendors and internal stakeholders.
Perform basic and detailed engineering for marine automation systems, including HMI, controllers, and associated systems.
Prepare technical documentation in line with contractual requirements and conduct vendor documentation reviews.
Identify technical risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery.
Review developed solutions and identify opportunities for improvement in processes, systems, and equipment.
Ensure strict compliance with all company and customer EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) policies and procedures.
Propose and implement improvements in processes, tools, system solutions, and technologies in alignment with the leadership team.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with other GE business entities to maximize synergies and business value.
Liaise with Platform Engineering, Technology, Project Management, and Supply Chain teams to support both project execution and business needs.
Coordinate with other GE businesses, platform verticals, subcontractors, suppliers, and supply chain partners as required.
Promote a lean mindset to deliver optimum and efficient technical solutions for projects.
Ensure compliance with all applicable company and customer health and safety regulations.
Support successful project delivery with a focus on time, quality, and budget.
Required Qualifications
This role requires basic experience in the Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with 1-3 years of experience.
