Position/Assignment Purpose :
The System Architect who holds essential technical expertise of product system architecture will steer the Rolling Wireless products development and advanced technical explorations from all the aspects.
Position/Assignment Summary :
This is a pivotal technical role in the global System Architecture team of R&D. You are expected to oversee various aspects during the whole product development life cycle at system architectural level, define requirements, architecture, identify technical weakness and improvements of the design, testing and manufacturing process, and proactively take initiatives driving innovations and new features pilot, and also support RFI/RFQ responses to win new customer projects.
Key Accountabilities/Statement of Work :
1. Support projects execution as the technical lead:
- Define system functional/non-functional requirements, identify high-level solutions, create system level architecture design, and track implementation for features development/improvement.
- Provide early techical feasibility and effort estimation in project and feature planning.
- Create system architecture and review HW/SW architecture design to ensure all system level considerations are taken into account.
- Align with cross product teams on system architecture and HW/SW interfaces consistency.
- Review feature implementations to idenfity requirement gaps and address improvements.
- Identify potential new requirements and/or enhancements, drive for implementation.
- Ensure defined development processes compliance and pass internal/external audits.
2. Support pre-sales activities including RFI/RFQ and customer engagement on technical topics to make sure prompt and accurate responses.
3. Perform hands-on pilot study for new technologies and prototyping of new features based on projects need or marketing demands.
4. Maintain clear and accurate product documents, and drive technical innovations for patents submission.
Required Education and Experience :
- BSEE/CS, MS will be preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience on embedded system development work, preferably in wireless connectivity products especially in automotive industry, with minimum 3 years working at system architectural level.
- Working experience on Qualcomm or MediaTek cellular platforms is a plus.
- Hands-on working experience on WIFI/BT, V2X and NTN technologies is a plus.
- Experience in Automotive telematics or infortainment is a strong plus.
- Knowledge and experience in processes of ASPICE, ISO21434 and ISO26262 are preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies :
1. Solid system level understanding of embedded systems including HW chipsets architecture and Software architecture.
2. Familiarity with Real-time OS, Linux, or Android system from Kernel to user space, and preferably hands-on software programming in C/C++, Python, Perl, JavaScript, Lua, etc.
3. Hands-on experience in at least 6 of the following areas (3+ at system architectural level expertise) :
- Wireless standards (3GPP, 3GPP2, GNSS, WIFI, BT/BLE, V2X, NTN, etc.)
- Peripherals of USB, UART, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, I2S, PCIe, SDIO, etc.
- Memory (NAND, eMMC, DDR) chipset solutions, file systems, memory endurance/reliability solution
- Product security (Secure boot, Secure update, Secure storage, etc.), embedded Linux security (DAC, SMACK, SELinux, AppArmor, IMA, etc.) and SW/HW hardening technics in Automotive industry.
- Networking (TCP/IP, SSH, TLS, Firewall, IPsec, VPNs, etc.
- Device management and OTA with cloud connectivity (OMA-DM, LWM2M, MQTT, CoAP, etc.)
- Thermal design principles and thermal managment technics
- Audio HW/SW architectures and tuning mechanisms
- Automotive E/E architecture and software architecture based on AUTOSAR
4. Proactive working attitude, being able to work efficiently both independently and collabratively in a group.
5. Excellent technical communication and documentation skills in English are essential.
