About the role

Join us as a senior Software Developer in SAI Budapest to craft the next generation of our single security analytical modelling platform using C++23 and Python 3 with the help of colleagues across Europe and the USA!

  • You will create new modules, applications, APIs, and observability pipelines to provide clients with novel ways of using our analytics.
  • You will understand our business processes, identify bottlenecks, and provide optimizations to improve our cloud compute performance.
  • It is important to have the ability to manage complex implementation and requirements as you will be working on a scalable, modular, and distributed architecture.
  • You will communicate with the users of our analytical systems and with stakeholders formulating external client requirements. You will also approach other teams in BlackRock to learn about the business use-cases we serve and how they could be recreated more efficiently on a novel platform.
  • We work in an integrated, agile team with a focus on quality of work validated through automated testing, and we value effective and clean code.
  • The analytical models we serve are the heart of BlackRock, having them delivered in a scalable and reliable way is a cross-team effort valued by all the parties involved.
About our team

Security Analytics Infrastructure (SAI) is an established team of ITE with presence in Hungary, New York, India, and Switzerland.

We develop scalable, high throughput, low latency analytical software in close cooperation with the Aladdin Financial Modelling team for valuation of fixed income products like swaps, bonds, private credit and derivatives.

Challenging the status quo is our norm, and we excel in building modern systems and onboarding innovative technology like microservice architectures. We are pioneers of the firm and early adopters of new tools and industry standards. We are a diverse team with different ideas working towards the same goal.

Our dominant programming languages are C++ and Python.

We are passionate about what we do and hope you are, too!

Requirements:

You should be

  • Experienced in enterprise software development (5-7 years)
  • Qualified with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
  • Ready to lead. Work experience where you were responsible for or owner of an application or component. Willingness and ability to provide tutoring and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Pragmatic and solution oriented
  • Eager to work as part of a software development team
You are familiar with
  • C++17 or later
  • Python 3
  • Design patterns, Object-Oriented Design principles, and fundamental Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Software development tools (test frameworks, version control)
  • Continuous Integration
Nice to know
  • Agentic development principles
  • C++ development tools (CMake, ninja, ccache, distcc)
  • Google Protocol Buffers
  • Unix systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu)
  • Profiling tools (gprof, valgrind, gperftools)
  • DevOps tools (Azure DevOps)
  • Scripting languages (bash, PowerShell)
  • Microsoft SQL
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Knowledge of finance and fixed income asset types is a plus but not a must. We will help to learn what is needed.

What We Do

As the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock partners with investors around the globe to help them (and those on whose behalf they invest) plan for life’s most important goals – like retirement, home ownership and their children’s education. Our clients range from governments, foundations and other large institutions to those investing on behalf of individuals, including firefighters, nurses, teachers and factory workers. BlackRock was founded with the idea of creating a better asset management firm — one that was purpose-driven, focused on clients and risk management, and propelled by data and technology. Our breakthrough Aladdin® platform is BlackRock’s technological backbone, helping investors see and manage their whole portfolios in one place – from constructing investments to monitoring risk and executing trades. Used by hundreds of external institutions around the world, Aladdin combines powerful analytics and a common language to help investment teams make faster, more informed decisions across public and private markets. It’s a key part of our business and one of the reasons we’re trusted to manage more assets than any other investment manager today. At BlackRock, we challenge conventions and raise the bar for what’s possible. We harness technology to unlock new solutions, simplify complexity, and deliver investment strategies that meet people where they are. Whether it’s retirement planning, wealth building or navigating market shifts, we’re here to help clients invest more easily, more affordably and with more choice as we chart a path toward financial well-being together.
