We are looking for a talented API Integration & Systems Engineer to design, configure, operate, and troubleshoot systems within Enterprise Environments. This position requires strong skills in application integration, as well as expertise in application installation and system-level troubleshooting across AIX, Linux, and Windows platforms.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring secure and reliable API connectivity, managing platform configuration, handling certificate lifecycle processes, and overseeing end-to-end API integrations in a mission-critical financial setting.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

1. Microgateway (MGW) Configuration & Operations

  • Install, configure, and oversee the Microgateways (MGW) to enable API connectivity.
  • Establish and manage inbound and outbound API routes using both Static YAML and Dynamic API configurations.
  • Implement TLS/mTLS protocols, manage certificate chains, trust stores, and keystores.
  • Set up API traffic policies including rate limiting, SLA timeouts, and throughput management.
  • Monitor the health, throughput, DLQ queues, and overall performance of MGW instances.

2. API Integration & Security

  • Design and define comprehensive systems integration architecture and communication workflows.
  • Establish integration standards, best architectural practices, and governance controls for system-to-system interactions.
  • Integrate applications with Swift APIs employing MV-SIPN security models such as OAuth, PKI-signed JWT, and TLS 1.2+.
  • Validate API requests and responses in accordance with OAS specifications.
  • Implement API security measures including authentication, authorization, RBAC, confidentiality, and integrity verification.
  • Design SSL/TLS communication flows incorporating trust boundaries, certificate governance, and secure channel architecture.
  • Review and interpret architectural diagrams, deployment frameworks, and technical specifications.

  • Platform Support Across AIX, Linux, and Windows
  • Lead application installation, environment setup, configuration, and troubleshooting across AIX, Linux, and Windows server platforms.
  • Conduct system checks, validate services, monitor processes, and analyze logs.

4. Networking & Connectivity

  • Manage Swift connectivity components including Alliance Gateway, SwiftNet Link, VPN, and HSM-based certificates.
  • Perform diagnostics on DNS, ports, proxies, firewalls, and load balancers; troubleshoot HTTPS, routing, reverse proxy behaviors, and connectivity issues.
  • Support integration efforts with Enterprise API gateways such as Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, and NGINX.

5. API Testing & Operational Validation

  • Validate API endpoints utilizing curl, Postman/Bruno, and command-line utilities.
  • Execute end-to-end testing of Swift API workflows including OAuth token handling, JWT, and TLS/TLS validation.
  • Adhere to runbooks, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures during deployments and support operations.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with business units, product teams, vendors, network, and security personnel to ensure seamless integrations.
  • Engage with Swift Support for issue escalations and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing phases, new API version deployments, and integration validations.

8. Documentation & Process Compliance

  • Maintain and update configuration manuals, support procedures, and system documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and governance standards regarding certificates and API credentials.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years in system support, application integration, API operations, or related fields.
  • Preferred certifications include API Integration, Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), or Security (Security+, CEH, CISSP).
  • Experience in large-scale or mission-critical banking, fintech, or financial messaging systems is advantageous.

Skills & Attributes

Technical Skills

  • Ability to analyze system architecture, integration patterns, and deployment topologies.
  • Strong networking knowledge including DNS, routing, ports, proxies, and firewall configurations.
  • In-depth understanding of REST APIs, API gateways, reverse proxies, and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with Microgateway (MGW) or comparable secure gateway technologies.
  • Proficiency in OAuth 2.0 (Client Credentials, JWT Bearer), PKI, TLS/mTLS protocols, and certificate lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with JSON, XML, and OpenAPI standards.
  • Experience handling JMS/AMQP queues, message flows, and dead-letter queue management.
  • Knowledge of SwiftNet PKI or similar enterprise security frameworks.
  • Extensive OS experience in AIX, Linux, and Windows environments.
  • Strong skills in HTTP/HTTPS and API troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with curl, Postman/Bruno, Linux CLI, and log monitoring tools such as Splunk, Kibana, and Grafana.
