This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Information Technology and works closely with the Director of Information Technology to support enterprise systems, infrastructure, and operational IT services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Microsoft server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Azure AD.
  • Configure, maintain, and support virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, licensing, and access controls.
  • Maintain and enforce security policies within cloud platforms.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and availability of all enterprise systems and data.
  • Perform regular audits of system access, permissions, and configurations.
  • Apply system hardening, patching, and updates following industry best practices.
  • Manage and monitor endpoint and server patching solutions (e.g., Automox or similar platforms).
  • Ensure all systems remain compliant with security and operational standards.
  • Monitor and maintain backup systems and recovery processes.
  • Participate in the development, testing, and execution of disaster recovery plans.
  • Perform routine system health checks and preventative maintenance.
  • Analyze alerts, logs, and performance data to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated issues related to infrastructure, systems, and applications.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Follow IT change management processes for all system modifications.
  • Work with vendors and service providers to support systems, resolve incidents, and implement upgrades.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or related experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on, verifiable experience configuring, implementing, supporting, administering and managing Microsoft infrastructure and Windows Server environment, including but not limited to: Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Azure, and Office 365.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on, verifiable experience with installing, hardening, patching, maintaining, upgrading, and managing Microsoft computing environments (including operating systems and server software) per the latest Microsoft best practices.
  • Minimum of two (2) years hands on experience with Cisco Unified CM Administration.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on, verifiable experience in configuring, maintaining, and managing Windows Hyper-V or VMWare.
  • Wireless solutions experience is desired but not required.

Skills and Abilities

A demonstrable level of relevant technical competency and experience in related areas including but not limited to:

  • A thorough understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking.
  • A practical level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including but not limited to DNS, LDAP, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP.
  • A working knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities.
  • Proficient with server management tools, PowerShell, Putty, and the command line interface.
  • Demonstrable experience using root-cause analysis to troubleshoot system and other IT-related problems and issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including experience in developing and maintaining technical documentation), interpersonal skills, and a commitment to quality and providing exemplary customer service required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours commensurate with event schedules and event needs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Evidence of any or all the following certifications is highly desirable:

Microsoft MTA, MCSA, MCSE, A+

This position will generally work standard business hours, but the candidate may be required to work off-schedule hours including holidays and weekends.
