Leidos is seeking a motivated System Administrator (SA) to join a diverse team committed to the sustainment of critical U.S. Army systems. The SA will support our Task Force 2200 (TF2200) program and report to the TF2200 Operations Support Manager.
The SA will maintain and sustain all components of Microsoft Windows based networks. These networks may contain Linux components such as data processing clusters, network storage devices, authentication servers, and workstations. This position requires ingenuity, critical thinking, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Candidate will be expected to establish positive working relationships with other team members as well as the users. Customer interaction occurs daily, and the candidate should be prepared to help customers meet their goals while working within Government regulations to maintain compliance and ensure a strong security posture.
The candidate will focus on implementation, documentation, and sustainment of IT infrastructure and business systems. The SA will document procedures, follow configuration management processes, monitor and maintain system performance, ensure systems meet service level agreements, and assist with planning and implementing system upgrades. Candidate will ensure system architecture is compatible with existing systems and in compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
The SA will be required to learn relevant, highly technical system details and domain knowledge and synthesize this knowledge into an effective IT architecture. The candidate will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the business units to extract detailed technical requirements, identify the necessary IT resources, and collaborate with teammates to implement and maintain the necessary infrastructure components.
The candidate must be motivated, team oriented, capable of independent work, and take pride in delivering high-quality products and services. Candidate must be comfortable learning and researching to stay current in the field of IT and to make sense of broad system specifications and requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
The SA’s primary duties will consist of:
- Providing tiers 1 and 2 of customer support, consisting of hardware and software. A strong customer service mindset and associated skills are vital to success in this position.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and DoD/Army requirements relevant to the confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation of systems operating in a tactical environment.
- Compliance with the security assessment and authorization process (Risk Management Framework).
- Compliance with the experience, training, and certification requirements IAW DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II or III within six months of hire date. (Transitioning to DOD 8140).
- Working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment supporting a diverse customer base comprised of engineers, analysts, developers, and specialists.
Basic Qualifications:
- A relevant BS degree from an accredited institution in Information Systems, Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, other Information Technology related engineering program.
- BS degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. 5 years of direct relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of BS degree.
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the Colorado Springs, CO, area or willing to relocate.
- Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Candidate must be able to obtain a Security + CE certification within the first 6-months of employment.
