Job Description:

IBM AIX support and data center migration projects

Daily Tasks will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Install, configure, upgrade and administer IBM AIX 6.1 & 7.1 Operating Systems on Power6, Power7, and Power 8 servers
  • Design and configure PowerVM and all virtualization services such as Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA), VLAN, VLAN tagging, IVE, NPIV, CPU pooling, Live Partition Mobility (LVM) and virtual SCSI services to multiple VIO client partitions.
  • Install, configure and support an HA environment utilizing Power HA and manage NFS share and GPFS clustered file systems.
  • Install, upgrade, configure and administer day to day management of IBM Hardware Management Console combined with configuring and administering Partition Mobility, Application Mobility, CPU Pooling, Active Memory Expansion (AME), Active Memory Sharing (AMS).
  • Install, configure, upgrade and administer Axway Secure File Transport Server and Axway File Transfer Direct applications. Configuring SSH, encryption tools and key creation and exchange.
  • Configure NFS and CIFS to NFS with multi-protocol support and integration with NAS and NIS utilizing master/slave configuration.
  • Install and configure Sysback, NIM, CommVault for Bare Metal restore capability and Disaster Recovery. Install, configure and administer enterprise backup solutions such as EMC Avamar and CommVault.
  • Use of system performance monitoring tools such as IBM Tivoli Tools, Splunk, Ganglia, and Big Brother.
  • Create, modify and manage KORN shell scripts.
  • Install, configure, upgrade and administer SAN infrastructure and support servers with SAN attached storage utilizing EMC VMAX and VNX storage systems and virtualized by VPLEX.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be an Expert System Administrator with documented employment experience of 7+ years.
  • Must have experience in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures, or business applications and productsthat run on those platforms.
  • Must be able to provide leadership of large teams and/or extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience installing, configuring, and administering IBM/AIX 6.1 & 7.1 systems on IBM Power Systems Servers.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience design and configure PowerVM and all virtualization services such as Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA), VLAN, VLAN tagging, IVE, NPIV, CPU pooling, Live Partition Mobility (LVM) and virtual SCSI services to multiple VIO client partitions.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience installing, configuring, upgrading and administering Axway Secure File Transport Server and Axway File Transfer Direct applications. Configuring SSH, encryption tools and key creation and exchange.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience install, configure and support an HA environment utilizing Power HA and manage NFS share and GPFS clustered file systems.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in doing day to day management of IBM Hardware Management Console combined with configuring and administering Partition Mobility, Application Mobility, CPU Pooling, Active Memory Expansion (AME), Active Memory Sharing (AMS).
  • Minimum of 60 months configuring NFS and CIFS to NFS with multi-protocol support and integration with NAS and NIS utilizing master/slave configuration.
  • Minimum of 5 years installing and configuring Sysback and NIM for Bare Metal restore capability and Disaster Recovery. Install, configure, upgrade and administer enterprise backup solutions such as EMC Avamar and CommVault.
  • Minimum of 5 years using system performance monitoring and auditing tools such as IBM Tivoli, IBM TPC, Splunk, Ganglia and Big Brother.
  • Minimum of 5 years creating, modifying and managing KORN shell scripts and system utilities.
  • Minimum of 3 years Installing, configuring, upgrading and administering SAN infrastructure and support servers with SAN attached storage utilizing EMC VMAX and VNX storage systems and virtualized by VPLEX.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
