Job Description
As a System Engineer at Signzy, you will be the technical bridge between our engineering teams and our clients.
You will own the deployment and ongoing operation of Signzy's platform across client environments, act as a
hands-on technical point of contact, and keep production systems healthy and performant. This is a client-facing
role: you'll lead deployments, drive incident management and root cause analysis (RCA), and build the automation
that makes all of it repeatable and reliable — all while working directly with financial institutions where security
and compliance are non-negotiable.
Responsibilities
• Own end-to-end deployment of Signzy's platform across client environments (cloud, on-prem, and hybrid/VPC
setups), working directly with client infrastructure and security teams.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients during onboarding, deployment, and steady-state
operations.
• Lead incident management: triage, drive resolution, communicate status to clients, and produce clear,
thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documents with preventive actions.
• Build and maintain tooling for deployment, monitoring, and operations including CI/CD pipelines and
infrastructure automation.
• Monitor system performance across environments and continuously optimize for reliability and cost.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments.
• Automate and streamline repetitive operational processes to reduce manual toil.
• Maintain runbooks, deployment documentation, and operational playbooks; help uphold SLAs.
• Work collaboratively with support and engineering teams to close the loop between field issues and product
fixes.
Requirements
• 2–3+ years of Linux administration experience in production environments.
• Strong scripting ability in at least one of Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Solid understanding of current network protocols, architecture, and design (TCP/UDP, DNS, load balancing, IP
whitelisting/blacklisting, SSL/TLS).
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (kubectl, Helm) navigating clusters, inspecting
pods/deployments/services, and troubleshooting workloads.
• Experience with containerization using Docker — running, configuring, and troubleshooting containers.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including GitOps-based delivery (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux) and infrastructure
automation.
• Experience operating and configuring Nginx, and with observability tooling like Grafana and Prometheus.
• Working knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS or Azure — IAM, compute, storage, VPC/VNet).
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is a plus.
• Solid grasp of IT operations best practices, security, and incident management.
Soft Skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication — able to explain technical issues clearly to both engineers and
non-technical client stakeholders.
• Comfortable being client-facing and calm under pressure during live incidents.
• Methodical, ownership-driven problem solver who can manage multiple priorities and see issues through to
RCA.
Additional
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience supporting SaaS / fintech systems in regulated or financial environments is highly desirable.
• Comfort with on-call rotations and production support responsibilities.
• Startup experience is a plus.
