SW Quality Engineer

Seeking an Experienced Test Engineer to join a highly focused and professional software test team engaged in testing and quality assurance of Ethernet controller software & solutions.

The candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the Layer2 functionality, TCP/IP networking, Virtualisation technologies, VM management, DPDK, RDMA testing and hands on experience in Python programming
 

Primary responsibilities include:
 

Test Planning:

·       Creation and review of Test strategies, Test designs, Test cases and Test Automation suites

·       Reviews of design and functional specifications created by development team to understand product functionality

Test Execution:

·       Lab Work: Server Bring-up, OS Installations, Lab Related activities

·       Execution (Manual): Work closely with multi-site team of developers and testers to coordinate and execute test activities

·       Execution (Automation): Work closely with automation developers to execute test cases

·       Review:  Review User Documentation to ensure it clearly documents product functionality and work closely with the development, Devops, and the customer support teams to ensure a high quality product
 

Qualifications: 
 

Education:

·       Bachelors of Engineering between (1-4 years only) Min 1 year, Max 4 years of test experience

OR

·       Masters of Engineering between (1-2 years only ) Min 1 year, Max 2 years of test experience

Job Requirements:

·       Hands-on experience in testing NIC controller for L2 features, with good knowledge of  TCP/IP stack

·       Should have Excellent knowledge in at least one of the OSes (Windows, Linux, ESX.

·       Good knowledge and working experience of OS administration, understanding of OS fundamentals, services and configurations.

·       Hands-on experience with OS specific tests for servers, storage, files systems and network validation.

·       Hands-on experience in Lab related activities like bring-up of Server, Switch configurations, and other Lab activities

·       Should possess excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.

·       Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, parallel tasks, and projects

·       Strong knowledge of various types of testing such as functional, negative, boundary, performance, scale, longevity testing, etc.

·       Good communication and documentation skills are required.

·       Need to be an Independent, critical thinker and a self-starter.

Added Plus: (Along with above defined Manual testing)

o   Experience with network test equipment is an added plus like – Protocol/PCIe Analyzers, Protocol Jammers, Load Generators (Ixia, Medusa tools etc)

o   Experience in the development of automation scripts in Python  (Primarily in networking and system level programming)
