We are seeking a passionate and experienced engineer in Blue Planet, a division of Ciena to lead product and solutions verification activities for groundbreaking projects. How You Will Contribute:
- Certify solutions by transforming concepts into optimized test coverage and exceptional customer experiences.
- Perform requirements analysis and develop comprehensive test plans for functionality, quality, and usability.
- Execute verification activities including functional, regression, stress, and system testing.
- Raise and manage critical JIRA defects and ensure potential customer impacts are addressed.
- Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports.
- Design and implement sophisticated test automation at functional and system levels.
- Enhance processes, tools, and methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Set up and troubleshoot lab environments for development, testing, and demo deployments.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement with a focus on automation and data-driven decision-making.
The Must Haves :
- Expertise in frontend testing frameworks like Cucumber, Jasmine, Webdriver.io, and Typescript/JavaScript.
- Proficiency in backend testing tools such as Postman/Newman, JSON, XML, and Python.
- Experience with load testing tools such as JMeter, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Hands-on knowledge of container management (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMware).
- Familiarity with CI tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
- Strong understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
- Knowledge of network management systems, web applications, microservice architecture, and network modeling.
- Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience with Layer 3 Networking protocols and technologies (e.g., DWDM/OTN/SONET/SDH/Carrier Ethernet).
The Assets:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science/ECE or equivalent.
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Familiarity with Ansible for automation/configuration management.
- Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, Neo4j, ClickHouse.
- Knowledge of Kafka, Elasticsearch, Kibana.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline configuration and maintenance.
