Recently, Kate Sanderson joined CDW as CHRO to lead an exciting HR transformation to scale and implement leading practices in how we deliver HR services to our coworkers across the globe. As part of the transformation team, CDW is hiring for a new Senior Vice President, Total Rewards. This leader will report directly to CHRO Kate Sanderson and lead Compensation, Benefits, and Executive Compensation teams across CDW. This role will be a part of a dynamic HR Leadership Team focused on driving impactful change throughout the organization through collaboration and teamwork. HR Transformation Overview The Senior Vice President, Total Rewards, will be a strategic partner to the executive team, responsible for developing and executing the company's global Total Rewards strategy. This leader will work in partnership with the CHRO to create a Total Rewards strategy and function, bringing best-in-class knowledge, assessing the current landscape and building upon its foundations. The ideal candidate for the role will be strategic and eager to build- an innovative, collaborative and progressive HR leader with exceptional business acumen and the ability to translate business challenges into actionable solutions in a rapidly evolving environment. This role will oversee the company's benefits offerings, broad-based compensation plans, and executive compensation programs, ensuring that they are competitive, innovative, and aligned with the company's goals. They will be a strong people leader with experience in developing highly capable and diverse teams and building trust and credibility to inspire associates across the business. They are action-oriented, resourceful, approachable and an excellent collaborator. Ideally, the candidate will have a depth of Benefits experience as well as a business mindset and strong change management skill set with experience in and passion for digital transformation. Location: Two days per week in one of CDW's offices in Vernon Hills, Rosemont or Chicago. Key Accountabilities • Design and implement a forward-looking Total Rewards strategy that attracts, motivates, and retains top talent while supporting business objectives. • Lead the development and management of a comprehensive benefits program, including health, wellness, retirement, and other employee perks. • Oversee the creation of broad-based compensation programs that balance competitiveness and cost-effectiveness across the global workforce. • Leverage data and market insights to continuously evolve compensation and benefits offerings, ensuring the company remains an employer of choice. • Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, HR, and Legal to ensure Total Rewards programs are aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements. • Develop and communicate Total Rewards philosophy and program changes to all levels of the organization, ensuring clear understanding and buy-in. • Build and lead a high-performing team of compensation and benefits professionals. • Drive the development and governance of executive compensation strategies in partnership with the CEO, executive leadership team, and the Board of Directors. Knowledge Base and Experience • A forward-thinking leader who can evolve and execute a comprehensive Total Rewards strategy that aligns with the company's growth and future needs. • Knows what best-in-class looks like and how to shape a function while still creating something unique that fits for CDW's business. • Expertise in benefits, with a deep understanding of cutting-edge, cost-effective, and best-in-class benefits programs. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the latest trends and capable of developing a 3-5 year Benefits strategy that leverages these insights. • A collaborative, cross-functional leader who can work with HR, Finance, Legal, and senior executives to build a cohesive and competitive Total Rewards strategy. Experience managing a team, setting clear goals, and driving results is critical. • Ability to leverage data analytics, benchmarking, and market intelligence to drive strategic decisions. They should be able to articulate the financial and strategic impact of rewards programs to senior leadership and the board. Experience designing and implementing programs that work across multiple geographies and cultural contexts, with an understanding of local market norms, tax implications, and regulatory requirements. • Superior business, analytical and strategic planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize and analyze complex data to develop recommendations and solutions, including the ability to break down complex problems into an actionable strategy and convey complex information in a compelling manner. Professional and Cultural Characteristics • Operates with a builder mentality and is excited to dive into the work to create something new and best-in-class. Not afraid to roll up their sleeves and do the work themselves. • Proven track record of leading global Total Rewards programs for high-growth organizations, ideally in the technology or similar industry. • Deep expertise in the latest benefits trends and best practices. • A leadership style characterized by straightforwardness, approachability, team orientation and collaboration as well as experience in hiring, mentoring and leading a high-performing team of HR professionals at all levels. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership and the Board of Directors. • Comfortable managing a high volume of organizational change; works to bring others along as the organization advances. • Possess a data driven mindset to assess organizational metrics and provide insights to the business. • An effective project manager who can prioritize the initiatives that will have the largest impact. Capable of working through ambiguity. • Process oriented; finds appropriate ways to implement structure and boost efficiency. • Collaborative; builds relationships across a wide range of stakeholders and partners well with others to drive progress. Qualifications and Requirements • At least 10- 15 years of progressive HR and Total Rewards leadership experience required. • Global Total Rewards experience strongly preferred. • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
