SCOPE/CONTACTS:

Responsible for developing and managing relationships with new and existing merchant clients, driving sales of our payment processing solutions, and providing exceptional service to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty. Leverage expertise in merchant services and payment solutions to meet the needs of our clients and contribute to the bank's growth objectives. Consistently meet sales goals for assigned regions throughout the FFIN footprint. Coordinate with other company personnel regarding product education and relationship building. Provide a high degree of proactive, positive, responsive, and professional prospect and customer interaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Consistently provide accurate and timely support to FFIN Treasury Management employees in order to efficiently onboard new business customers.
  • Identify and target new merchant clients through prospecting, networking, and leveraging existing relationships.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Conduct regular check-ins to assess client satisfaction, address concerns, and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
  • Stay informed about the bank's merchant services offerings, payment processing solutions, and industry trends.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of our services to clients and tailor solutions to meet their unique needs.
  • Utilize a consultative approach to understand clients' business models and payment needs, providing tailored recommendations that drive value and enhance their operations.
  • Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and finalize agreements with clients to ensure mutually beneficial terms and conditions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery for clients.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in our merchant services solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline management.
  • Demonstrate consistency in ability to meet sales goals and retain customer relationships.
  • Field incoming phone and email communications and act as the point of contact for all MS sales.
  • Coordinate with other bank personnel on prospect research and outbound sales calls
  • Prepare customer documentation and facilitate submission of new client applications.
  • Work alongside newly boarded customers to install and train employees on system functionality.
  • Travel required monthly to build the inter-company referral network, educate bank personnel on product, and assist bank personnel in sales calls.
  • Facilitate resolution of merchant related client issues, including but not limited to implementation assistance, operational and technical support of MS products and services, and user training.
  • Follow up with new customers at 45-, 90- and 180-day intervals to confirm satisfaction.
  • Assist management with reporting and data entry as needed. 
  • Maintain positive, professional attitude.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in merchant sales, payment processing, or related financial services.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong knowledge of payment processing solutions, merchant services, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills used to establish and maintain client relationships.
  • Problem assessment and solving skills to identify solutions to MS issues and unique client needs.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks, establish task priority, and coordinate issue resolution efforts across multiple work groups in a timely manner.
  • Will follow up and follow through with internal and external customers in a timely manner.
  • Ability to recognize workflow patterns and offer input regarding improvement opportunities.
  • Advanced knowledge of banking and merchant services
  • Understanding of rules and regulations pertaining to the banking industry to ensure compliance standards are followed.
  • Computer literacy to include an understanding Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
