Direct the Sales Department in accordance with Company policy, and state and federal regulations; and by using skills and experience in sales, marketing, business management, customer service, leadership, human resource development, and professional development to provide excellent service to every customer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate actions and tactics to assure the overall achievement of the Company’s Annual Sales Plan objectives on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance of sales practices with federal and state regulations and Company policy without exception.
  • Define direction and align human resources and budgets for the accomplishment of the Company’s sales objectives.
  • Lead and direct the strategic sales goals, customer service initiatives, and the employee development needs of the Advance Planning & Family Service department’s sales management.
  • Achieve defined sales plan goals for Net Property and Net Funeral levels.
  • Directly assist in the development of the Department Annual Sales Budget.
  • Represent the Sales Department as an active member of the Company’s Strategic Committee.
  • Department “leader” with an eye to daily operating details, strategies and tactics working through the Sales Directors for optimum success.

Experience and Education

  • Ten to 15 years’ experience in direct sales
  • Proven success in building sales teams and sales departments for optimal results within medium and large organizations
  • At least five years in senior sales management coupled with a proven track record of achieving predefined written results
  • Direct experience in leading and managing multiple sales teams and obtaining desired results
  • B.A. degree required in Marketing, Communications or equivalent; graduate work in business and marketing will be a meaningful plus

  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills that are proven effective in developing sales management and sales personnel

  • In-depth understanding of the Southern California markets

  • High level of critical thinking and problem solving
  • PC with MSOffice software, and HMIS
  • Knowledge of Rose Hills Park Rules & Regulations
  • Knowledge of safety and health regulations
Working Environment

Direct the Sales Department in an office and sales environment, and travel throughout the community in all weather conditions to represent the Company and to gather sales information; cope with high demand from internal and external customers, and with constantly changing priorities and interruptions; flexible availability is required to work outside of normally scheduled work hours. Participate in senior management meetings, and participate in a variety of outside community events and organizations.

Physical Requirements

Ability to direct a busy sales department; cope with a high volume of customers, and handle leadership, training, community relations, and stressful situations with grace and dignity; ability to lead and teach groups of employees, Company management, and community leaders using speaking and presentation skills.  Must be able to drive Company vehicles throughout the community to conduct business and represent the Company in a variety of events and organizations.

Compensation:

Exempt: $200,000/yr - $500,000/yr

Plus Bonus
