The Senior Vice President, Product is responsible for the development, operationalization, and execution of their designated business unit's product strategy and roadmap to ensure it features market-leading innovation, delivers value for Inovalon clients through continuous product improvement, and supports Inovalon's financial and operational performance goals. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the business unit's Product function and team members. Additionally, this executive leadership role is accountable for developing the product portfolio's strategic vision while nurturing and empowering a culture of innovation and continuous and improvement.

The Senior Vice President, Product proactively participates in and leads cross-functional collaboration to drive improvements and performance in the entire Inovalon product suite. This role is an executive leadership function and is directly involved in all key organizational strategy and decision-making.

Description of Duties

  • Plans, develops and oversees enterprise-wide programs and operations for large, complex function(s) or business unit.
  • Plays a leading role in high-level organizational decisions and daily operations.
  • Sets and is accountable for financial plans and goals for assigned business unit or function.
  • Focuses on translating corporate objectives into strategic business plans for the business segment/function/ area based on knowledge of market and competitive trends.

  • Decisions have significant impact on business or operating unit, budget, department, employees and/or client(s).
  • Nature of work and decisions require analysis and evaluation of tangible and intangible factors.
  • Others consult with this leader when making high-level decisions.

Scope of Leadership & Talent Management

  • Directs execution in support of enterprise strategy, leveraging assets (people, technology, intellectual property, etc.).
  • Responsible for the coaching and professional development of leaders, succession planning and ensuring high performance levels within area.
  • Participates in the preparation of annual budgets and drives business dealings and internal/external relationships, as required.
  • Leads organization across functional boundaries at an enterprise and/or business unit level.

Knowledge/Education/Experience

  • Superior organizational/leadership skills; demonstrated ability to execute.
    Requires critical thinking, advanced understanding of business functions, and detailed knowledge of data, analysis and performance metrics.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of the industry, business strategies, and company objectives.
  • Generally, requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15+ years' experience in a related discipline and 12+ years of management experience.
  • Master’s degree may be preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge regarding products, services, capabilities, infrastructure, and operations of Employer and its affiliates, the marketplace, competition, strategic positioning, threats, and direction to achieve optimal insight and success with respect to Employer’s (and those of its affiliates) products, services, capabilities, support, functionality requirements, and financial performance.
  • Lead, drive, and ultimately be responsible for planning, implementation, execution, and successful achievement of their designated business unit's product strategy including:
  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership for the organization.
  • Champion innovation and a relentless focus on total customer experience through excellence in product design, development, and delivery.
  • Share industry expertise with all team members to foster an environment of knowledge transfer and education.
  • Responsible for evaluating product strategy, product markets, product ROI models, product-related efficiencies, effectiveness, and productivity.
  • Responsible for evaluating client implementation proposals, efforts, and engagements.
  • Responsible for supporting the forecasting of revenue and associated, required, resources related to areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for participating in the drive to meet company revenue goals and profitability.
  • Work with the team on the strategic product design and system capabilities.
  • Work closely with the client executive teams to facilitate alignment of strategic goals.
  • Identify new opportunities for incremental sales and improved client satisfaction.
  • Identification of metrics to determine success or opportunities for improvement.
  • Create and/or review Statements of Work for new service delivery.
  • Participate in executive steering meetings with customers.

  • Maintain compliance with lnovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within lnovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by lnovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.
