Key Responsibilities
The SVP, People & Culture will arrive at an exciting point in OpenTable’s transformation and will work closely with the CEO and the rest of the executive leadership team to help steer the company into its next phase of ambitious growth from both a culture and business perspective.
Get ready to roll up your sleeves, because in this role you will:
Be the expert on all things HR-related who can provide recommendations and guidance to the executive leadership team
Help us prepare for the future through succession planning, leadership development, employee recognition and rewards programs, and more
Cultivate a culture that attracts and retains top talent, as well as keeps employees engaged and growing once they join OpenTable
Supercharge our efforts to create an inclusive workplace by furthering diversity, belonging, and inclusion efforts
Make sure HR operations run like a finely oiled machine (compensation, benefits, systems, budgets) and that OpenTable is compliance with local laws and regulations
Work with our Booking Holdings’ sister brands to share knowledge and best practices
Set an example of mentorship and employee growth in your own department that can flow to the rest of the company
Professional Experience/Qualifications
The ideal SVP of People & Culture blends pragmatism and drive with emotional intelligence and curiosity. You’re a strong communicator who can switch between speaking to the executive team and the company at large—while inspiring both. You approach challenges with professionalism, curiosity, and a dash of start-up scrappiness; you can judge when a process is working but are willing to start from scratch when it’s not. And most importantly, you can serve as a leader, a partner, or a mentor when the need arises, and have the ability to recognize which role is needed at any given time. Beyond that, we’re looking for someone with:
Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably as a Chief People Officer or similar, with a mix of start-up and corporate experience preferred
Experience advising executive teams using a data-driven approach
The ability to run a tight ship from a budget and process perspective
A mind for business and the ability to align HR strategies with the overarching objectives using data as your guide (must love numbers!)
Genuine passion for improving employee experience and fostering a culture of continuous growth
Someone who can navigate organizational change with ease
Encyclopedic knowledge of employment laws and regulations in the US and international locations
A real commitment to diversity, belonging, and inclusion with the record to back it up
