The position will lead a team of experienced actuaries that will collaborate with the US market team to source, design, price and execute such complex transactions. 

The position will have a US market focus while coordinating with SCOR L&H to access and leverage the experience in other jurisdictions globally.

This position requires leadership, collaboration, creativity, management experience and structuring skills as well as the development of talent within the team and periodic review, motivation and incentivization of direct reports at the VP, AVP and Associate levels.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Building and managing a team of highly motivated and talented experts in structuring and executing Financial Solutions transactions.

  • Collaborate with US traditional market team to source, market, design and execute transactions.  

  • Support compliance of transactions with SCOR standards and processes.

  • Design new solutions arising from change in regulations and/or specific needs from clients. 

  • Contribute to the global Financial Solutions team objectives in terms of risk management, strategic planning, reporting and financial targets.

  • Help to achieve organizational branding goals to create the image of SCOR as a major player in innovative Financial solutions by attending and participating at targeted industry conferences and by visiting clients

  • Monitor transaction experience and execute triggers as necessary to maintain profitability

  • Maintain in collaboration with the US market team a network of contacts in insurance companies, investment banks and financial advisors to source transactions

Qualifications

Desired Experience & Competencies

  • 20 or more years’ experience in Life Insurance and Reinsurance actuarial roles, with at least 5 years in financial solutions reinsurance transactions

  • Successful track record of closing complex transactions

  • Network of solid relationships in the insurance and reinsurance marketplace

  • Management and development experience of actuarial professionals

  • Executive presence and ability to present at many levels of an organization, both internally and within clients

Pay Range for roles performed: $244,000 - $365,000 base salary per year for Charlotte NC / $280,000 - $420,000 for New York City. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance

coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement saving plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
