We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustaining Engineer to join our team in Piedras Negras. This role is critical to supporting the long-term performance and reliability of our existing products. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish across global teams.
About Your Role:
• Investigate returned materials to identify root causes and drive corrective actions. Follow the RMA process, including analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation of RMA items.
• Work with the quality team with 8D reporting when necessary.
• Analyse RMA trends and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product reliability.
• Manage component and material lifecycle, including tracking obsolescence and identifying alternatives.
• Coordinate with procurement and manufacturing to ensure component availability and compliance.
• Identify and implement design changes that reduce product cost and improve performance.
• Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and iterative design improvements.
• Update design documentation, specifications, and test plans to reflect engineering changes.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to sustaining engineering decisions.
About You:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
• 2+ years of experience in sustaining, manufacturing, or product support engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with failure analysis, component sourcing, and design validation.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and international teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with ERP systems and component lifecycle management tools.
• Knowledge of PCB design and electrical troubleshooting.
• Exposure to regulatory standards (UL, CE, etc.).
• Scripting experience (Python preferred).
