Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Sustainability Engineer to join our organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will drive our sustainability initiatives and help us achieve our environmental and operational excellence goals. You will work collaboratively across departments to develop, implement, and monitor sustainable practices that align with our corporate strategy and regional sustainability objectives. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a visionary approach to create meaningful environmental impact while optimizing organizational efficiency.

  • Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments and sustainability audits across organizational operations and facilities
  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies and action plans to reduce carbon footprint, energy consumption, and waste generation
  • Analyze data and metrics to identify opportunities for process optimization and resource efficiency improvements
  • Design and oversee sustainability projects, including renewable energy initiatives, waste management programs, and water conservation efforts
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, standards, and corporate sustainability policies
  • Prepare sustainability reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability considerations into business operations and decision-making processes
  • Research and evaluate emerging sustainable technologies and best practices for potential organizational adoption
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sustainability goals and provide regular progress updates
  • Support the development of sustainability training and awareness programs for employees

Qualifications

  • 10 years of professional experience in sustainability engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of environmental engineering principles, sustainability assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex environmental metrics and sustainability performance indicators
  • Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) or SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board)
  • Demonstrated expertise in life cycle assessment (LCA) and carbon footprint analysis
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems, waste management practices, and circular economy principles
  • Project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings to diverse audiences
  • Proficiency with sustainability analysis tools and software (such as energy modeling tools or GIS software)
  • ISO 14001 certification or equivalent environmental management system knowledge (preferred)
  • Knowledge of green building standards and certifications (LEED, BREEAM, or similar) is a plus
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across organizational departments
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 sustainability initiatives and regional environmental priorities (preferred)
