The Disclosures team within Glasgow Finance is part of the global Finance Shared Services External Reporting team which produces financial regulatory reporting of the Firm in accordance with multiple accounting and regulatory frameworks. We have a demand for career minded individuals to join our team.
The team is responsible for preparing certain external reporting disclosures of the Firm and legal entities which are produced in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS as well as preparation of components of Financial Regulatory reporting to a number of Regulators including the Bundesbank and European Banking Authority.
As a result of the ever changing regulatory and financial reporting environment the team is extending to establish production ownership of Sustainability Disclosures and related regulatory templates for European legal entities.
The team works closely with a number of stakeholders across the Firm including Finance, Sustainability Office, Risk, Legal and Corporate Services.
 

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources.

This is a Director level position within our Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting Job Family which is responsible for the accuracy and control of the Firm’s books and records to produce the consolidated firm, segment and legal entities financial statements, including development, management and oversight of financial accounting & reporting systems as well as database management, including capital and liquidity reporting and external reporting functions.

What you'll do in the role:
- Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
- Responsible for and lead aspects of individual and team deliverables and projects, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segments
- Adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; proactively identify ways to reduce risk in work
- Act as a culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards
- Sustainability Disclosure deliverables for European legal entities, ensuring controlled processes, clear ownership, and delivery to agreed timelines and quality standards for hand-off to Finance Legal Entity Controllers.
- Pillar 3 ESG templates, including coordinating inputs, performing review and validation checks, and maintaining supporting documentation and evidence.
- EU Taxonomy templates, ensuring consistent methodology application, appropriate controls over source data, and alignment with internal governance expectations.
- Short Term Exercise (STE) templates, managing the production timetable and coordinating inputs and review across Finance, Risk and other key stakeholders.
- Ad hoc regulatory submissions, including delivery within required timeframes.
- Reconciliation of lending data used in the MS legal entity Physical Intensity metric, to ensure this is fit for purpose
- Establishing and maintaining a robust governance, documentation and controls framework for disclosures production (including procedures, checklists, evidence packs, issue logs and approvals).
- Coordinating internal and external assurance activity (e.g., audit requests and independent reviews), track remediation actions through to closure, and drive continuous improvement across the production process.
- Presenting disclosures and analytics to Finance Snr Management for due diligence pre-filing

What you'll bring to the role:
- In-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment
- Ability to operate independently with respect to most job responsibilities
- Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and innovate processes
- Qualified CA/CPA/ACCA (or equivalent experience) with strong analytical and drafting skills and a high attention to detail.
- A strong financial controller background and experience running controlled production processes for regulatory reporting and/or external disclosures.
- Experience designing or operating risk and control frameworks, including documentation standards and governance processes.
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence across functions (Finance, Sustainability, Risk, Legal and Corporate Services) to obtain timely inputs and resolve issues.
- Experience of working with large datasets
- Self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Strong work ethic with an ability to take responsibility for completing tasks and working to deadlines
- Ability to balance and effectively prioritise multiple issues

- At least 4-6 years relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
