The Details:

The Data Entry Specialist, Surety Bond is responsible for accurately processing and executing surety bond transactions within the Morris Plains office, serving as a key administrative and operational support partner to the Surety Underwriting team. This role involves managing new and renewal bond business through specialized surety systems, applying a strong understanding of rating methodologies, and ensuring precise data entry, coding, and documentation. The specialist prepares and issues bonds and riders, verifies transaction accuracy, and supports billing activities by helping resolve premium and commission discrepancies. Additionally, the position requires consistent collaboration with underwriters, management, and executive leadership, while delivering high-quality customer service by responding to inquiries and communicating effectively with agents, clients, and internal and external stakeholders. The role demands exceptional attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy across all transactions.

 

What will you do:

  • Process new surety business using Surety systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Apply a strong understanding of rating scenarios to produce error-free work with exceptional attention to detail. Responsibilities include preparing and issuing new bonds and riders; entering rates; and coding new business, renewals, and cancellations.
  • Provide comprehensive underwriting support to the Surety Underwriting team, including Underwriters, Bond Manager, Office Manager, and executive leadership, while delivering exemplary service to agents and clients.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries, input new bond transactions, and prepare and verify documentation for accuracy prior to system entry.
  • Assist with billing matters, including resolving premium and commission discrepancies, as requested.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills when engaging with clients, claims professionals, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process all transactions within designated systems with a consistently high level of accuracy and efficiency.

What we are looking for:

  • 1+ years’ business experience, preferably in insurance or financial services
  • Able to work on-site 5 days/week
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Organized, detail oriented multi-tasker
  • Possess excellent verbal, written and follow-through skills
  • MS Office Suite and ability to learn internal systems
  • Strong motivation to consistently deliver services and tasks associated with responsibilities
  • Training or experience in customer service & administrative functions
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal team members & broker's office

CCPA Job Applicant:

 

Pay Range: $22- $25/hr

 

The above pay range is for all US-based roles based on function and level, benchmarked against companies of similar size and scope. To be compliant with local legislation as well as provide greater transparency to candidates, we disclose salary ranges on all job postings regardless of the desired job location. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and the opportunity for annual long-term incentive stock grants. In addition, we offer a highly competitive benefits package. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and qualifications, and may vary from the amounts listed above
