DEPARTMENT: Diagnostic Imaging Central Support

SCHEDULE: Days, Mon-Fri, 8am-430pm

SUMMARY

Plans, directs and supervises Specialty Radiologic Technologists. Maintains multi-modality radiologic services in accordance with established hospital, Federal and State standards, assists radiologist with difficult procedures and performs general technical duties when workload is heavy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assures compliance for current licensure/certification on all staff.

  • Maintains accountability for patient throughout and image quality in assigned supervisory areas.

  • Attends Leadership meetings and cascades information to staff.

  • Responsible for participating in the interview process and making recommendation for hiring of staff as needed.

  • Performs Annual Performance appraisals and ensures mandatory in-services are completed within set time frame.

  • Technologists are trained and provided with current updated procedural changes.

  • Maintains equipment and supplies in accordance with hospital process and procedure. Equipment malfunctions are reported immediately to the direct report and service personnel.

  • Responsible for assigning studies to technologists and coordinating staff availability with other supervisors.

  • Responsible for the imaging procedures of all patients in all areas as needed.

  • Supervises employees on all shifts and assures that all duties are performed.

  • Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS.

  • Calls preliminary reports to doctor’s offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist.

  • Responsible for reviewing and sign off for overtime submitted by staff.

  • Excellent customer service behaviors will be expected and employees held accountable thereof.

  • Performs exams and other duties within the scope of licensure (either XR or US).

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years of clinical experience in an accredited imaging modality (e.g., Radiography, Ultrasound/Sonography, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, or related field)

XR, CT, MRI, Mammography:

  • 2 year college degree or equivalent

Sonography:

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent

Nuclear Medicine:

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent

Required Licensure/Certifications:

  • XR, CT, MRI, Mammography

  • ARRT certification

  • NYS license

Sonography:

  • RDMS registered

Nuclear Medicine:

  • NMTCB certification

  • NYS license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five years of clinical experience in an accredited imaging modality (e.g., Radiography, Ultrasound/Sonography, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, or related field)

  • Prior supervisory experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.

Skills Required

  • Two years of clinical experience in an accredited imaging modality (e.g., Radiography, Ultrasound/Sonography, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine)
  • 2 year college degree or equivalent for XR, CT, MRI, Mammography; 4 year degree or equivalent for Sonography and Nuclear Medicine
  • ARRT certification (Radiologic Technologist) where applicable
  • NYS license for applicable modalities
  • RDMS registration for Sonography roles
  • NMTCB certification for Nuclear Medicine roles
  • Ability to perform imaging exams and other duties within scope of licensure (XR or US)
  • Prior supervisory experience
