The Opportunity
Power Transformers is a key business unit within Hitachi Energy, based in Ludvika, Sweden. We develop, sell and produce Transformers and Reactors, both vital for a effective grid. We are part of delivering a safe way of transferring electricity while keeping losses at a minimum. We at Power Transformers are now looking for an enthusiastic and driven Supply Quality Engineer who values personal growth and is eager to continuously learn. In this role, you will be the key speaking partner towards our suppliers, collaborating with internal teams such as design, sales, production, services, and operational purchasing. You’ll play an essential part in driving and coordinating strategic sourcing activities, working closely with stakeholders to uncover cost-efficient and reliable solutions and setups. You’ll join our quality department that also are growing a lot to keep up with the rest of our business.
How you’ll make an impact
You will drive the supplier qualification/re-qualification process and ensure the supply base is and remain fully qualified and compliant.
You will collaborate closely with other functions/experts like engineering and perform required product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.
You will operationally lead and fast execute upcoming supply issues like quality issues, late deliveries, non-conforming products or project services, for any issue with likely root cause supplier, prepare a claims case for the responsible buyer.
Apply lean six sigma and risk-based methodologies to drive continuous improvement in supplier capabilities and performance, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and business unit requirements.
You will develop and execute supplier improvement plans based on assessments and data, ensuring Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) to boos innovation and improve quality, delivery, cost and risk.
You will develop and support targeted suppliers to achieve ongoing conformity with Customer and Business Unit requirements and continuous improvement in quality.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
You excel in communication, networking, and collaboration, building trust across teams and suppliers.
You take ownership, solve complex challenges, and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
A degree in Engineering is preferred, and experience in Supply Chain is required.
Knowledge or experience with electrical components is an advantage.
You are proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI, and ERP systems like SAP.
Strong Swedish skills and fluency in English are required
