The Specialist is required to manage operational escalations and urgent supply chain issues, ensuring timely resolution while contributing to continuous process improvement across the supply chain. They will also be involved in coaching and supporting other team members, helping to build capability and ensure consistent high‑quality operational performance across the team.
As our Supply Chain Specialist your key responsibilities will include:
- Drive cost‑saving initiatives across the supply chain, leading and supporting projects that enhance warehouse efficiency, optimise space, and reduce operational spend. Identify cost risks and opportunities, develop practical solutions, and work with cross‑functional teams to implement improvements.
- Manage inventory performance across all stock locations, working closely with key partners and business stakeholders to minimise stock levels and maintain high data integrity. Collaborate with Finance teams to support effective cost management, ensure accurate inventory records, and meet all financial and audit requirements
- Serve as a Supply Chain Subject Matter Expert, maintaining deep knowledge of operational procedures, systems, and tools used across Canon’s operations teams.
- Support and optimise end‑to‑end inbound and outbound delivery processes, ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods throughout the supply chain while driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance
- Manage transport cost controls, including monthly invoice reviews, validating charges against rate cards and contracts, challenging discrepancies, and maintaining logs to track and resolve issues with suppliers. Support the ongoing management of supplier contracts
- Produce and distribute weekly and monthly operational reports, covering inbound/outbound movements, warehouse performance, final‑mile partners, logistics, and wider supply chain functions. Track KPIs and SLAs, monitor service exceptions, and proactively analyse trends to identify issues and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain full compliance with Customs procedures, ensuring accurate and timely declarations and regulatory reporting (e.g., Intrastat, VAT, Extrastat). Work closely with customs brokers to monitor activity and escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure adherence to supply chain rules, regulations, and internal processes, implementing and maintaining controls to safeguard compliance across all logistics operations.
- Support onboarding and training of team members, contributing to knowledge transfer, process definition, documentation, and capability building within the team.
- Develop strong working relationships with key business stakeholders, sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Communicate issues clearly and coordinate cross‑functional projects using strong presentation and influencing skills.
