Overview of Position 

In this newly created role you will manage a complex Production Schedule that ensures priority shipments are delivered to customers on time and within target budget, allowing for component lead times, equipment and staff availability and product dependencies. Reporting initially to the COO, then to a Head of Operations, the role will work closely with the Head of Production and Head of Procurement and our Business Assurance Advisor. The role will work cross functionally with the Order Management team.

Role and responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a realistic, achievable Production Schedule
  • Manage and optimise equipment & technician utilisation
  • Understand business short and long term priorities and align production schedule to optimise for these
  • Schedule Equipment Maintenance and Calibration, minimising schedule disruption
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and resolve or escalate
  • Partner with Purchasing to communicate with suppliers and coordinate shipment timelines
  • Communicate delivery dates with Order Management teams
  • Manage inventory levels to meet production requirements
  • Understand production dependencies
  • Provide accurate, timely inputs to Future Capacity Planning
  • Assess supply chain capacity and provide inputs to future production growth modelling
  • Forecast short and medium term component requirements and lead times.
  • Provide valuable analytics and reporting to business partners
  • Report production deliverables, including risks and mitigation plans
  • Report performance against targets
  • Assess and report gaps against target, including root cause
  • Align with Purchasing and Order Management teams to resolve schedule gaps
  • Coordinate with Production Engineering teams to minimise downtime and optimise outputs.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering degree is an advantage
  • 3+ years in similar electronics Production Planning role
  • Experience enabling cross functional collaboration
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communicator with ability to cut through complexity
  • Experience in Production planning methodology, bottleneck identification, critical path analysis
  • Proficient in production planning software and tools, SalesForce knowledge is a bonus
  • Resilient personality with high attention to detail
  • Comfortable with frequent change and ambiguity
