Responsibilities - your mission
Airbus is preparing for a successful future and for the next generation of zero-emission aircraft with the implementation of a new industrial setup. It will lay the foundation of Airbus' future entrepreneurial success and thus contribute to long-term job security.
At the heart of this new industrial setup is the bundling of all aerostructures assembly activities in a strong aerostructures assembly company in Germany. Combining these activities is intended to make processes more efficient, stabilize the industrial system and improve competitiveness in the long term.
You will be working within the procurement team of Airbus Aerostructures (ASA). The team is responsible for a large number of central purchasing activities, supply chain quality and other activities like process management, data analytics or costing.
In your role as ASA Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer (SCME) you will provide support to the ASA Procurement Cost & Value Engineering Team and act as their interface to different internal and external stakeholders.
Main responsibilities
Act as the technical interface of purchasing to our Supply Chain (e.g. suppliers and other functions).
Create and validate technical specifications for items being part of transfer of work activities or for components that are part of relocation packages.
Conduct technical assessments of industrial concepts and the feasibility of work packages.
Analyze and evaluate suppliers' offers in terms of production times, set-up times, production resources and optimization potential.
Analyze and evaluate technical and commercial component information and manufacturing processes (for tenders, optimization projects, industrialization, LAI gap closure, etc.).
Lead design-to-cost projects with suppliers and further identify (cost) optimization potential for supplier components and processes (DtC/DtV, Lean).
Carry out technical shop floor assessments at suppliers.
Initiate and track measures and their effectiveness at the supplier's site.
Accompany audits as a technical expert.
Requirements - our ideal candidate will have/be
Diploma/Master in the field of engineering, materials science, or comparable qualification acquired in another way
Sound knowledge in the area of manufacturing composite and/or metallic materials
Sound knowledge of production and manufacturing processes
Understanding of industrial concepts such as lean manufacturing, focused factory, six sigma.
Knowledge and experience in project management
Procurement experience (interaction with procurement or procurement processes knowledge) would be a plus
Ability to analyze and prepare technical information
Strong analytical skills and structured way of working
Demonstrated strong presentation skills
Team player with entrepreneurial mindset
Language Skills: Negotiation level of English, German would be a plus
Experience in Google environment, PLM, SAP, PAS SSI would be a plus
Willingness to occasional business travel
