Program Description
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, headquartered in Akron, Ohio, is looking for talented leaders to add to its global leadership depth and play a role in the current and future success of the organization. The co-op/intern Program provides students with practical work experience in one of many diverse areas. The program allows students to gain a better understanding of the various job opportunities available throughout Goodyear.
In addition to challenging, engaging and interesting work assignments, students have the opportunity to meet and interact with students from other universities at work and outside of work. Tours of Goodyear facilities are arranged to help students learn more about the business. Goodyear leaders interact with students to help them begin to think about significant business issues and career options. Students even have the opportunity to speak with the Goodyear Senior Leadership Team.
Function Overview and Project Tasks/Responsibilities
The goal of Supply Chain Internship Program is designed to develop high caliber individuals into future leaders in Supply Chain or Operations Management. Our participants get the opportunity to gain visibility to leadership and create impact within a global manufacturing organization. They gain experience learning Supply Chain management tools, participating in meetings and business reviews, and help drive continuous improvement projects.
Some examples of Internship Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Be part of demand collaboration meetings with key sales channel leaders
Help optimize reporting and methodology
Assist with negotiating container contracts
Ensure customer satisfaction for key accounts (e.g.: Walmart and Sam’s Club)
Support raw materials planning
Requirements
Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
Minimum 3.0 overall GPA preferred
Expected graduation within one year of internship
Intellectual curiosity with a drive for root-cause analysis
Continuous Improvement mentality and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and accomplish goals simultaneously
Strong analytical and data management skills
Ability to thrive in a team environment
Strong interpersonal skills
Capable of interacting with all organization levels from entry level Associates to Senior Leadership Strong desire and motivation to develop a career in Supply Chain
Travel may be required and will vary by project
