PURPOSE OF POSITION

Gain hands-on experience in supply chain and strategic sourcing by supporting the Director of Supply Chain with a variety of projects and activities. This internship will provide exposure to commodity management, supplier sourcing, requests for proposal (RFPs), data analysis, and supplier decision-making while helping support PPI’s ongoing sourcing initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.

More specifically, the Supply Chain intern will:

  • Work alongside the Director of Supply Chain to analyze items within assigned commodity groups.
  • Assist with preparing and organizing requests for proposal (RFPs).
  • Help collect, organize, and analyze supplier responses and RFP results.
  • Assist with comparing supplier pricing and other information to support sourcing decisions.
  • Help organize and maintain supplier and sourcing data.
  • Gain exposure to commodity management and strategic sourcing processes.
  • Assist with various sourcing projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Help increase the team’s capacity to complete RFPs and other sourcing activities.
  • Participate in projects that support PPI’s supply chain and purchasing goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong academic candidate, demonstrated by a GPA of 3.0 or better

  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Currently entering their junior or senior year as a Supply Chain Management major or in a related field of study.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES 

  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
