Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics sector (NGAS) is hiring a Supplier Quality Manager 1 to join our team within the Mission Assurance (MA) Organization. This position will report to the Global Surveillance Division Supplier Quality Manager and will lead Supplier Quality SOW on one of the divisions programs. This leadership opportunity will be located at Melbourne, FL.
The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. This position shall serve as a communication conduit between the supplier(s) organization and the NGAS Mission Assurance, Global Supply Chain and other relevant stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Program Quality (MA) leadership to ensure SQ resource demands support the Supplier Quality strategy and meet Program expectations and ensures the resources are adequately trained.
Support EMD development activities and identify upfront Supplier Engagement activities to help suppliers understand flow down quality requirements - thus setting the supplier up for success in performing their SOW.
Support SQ requirements development, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), supplier pre-award capability assessments, source selection evaluations, PDR, CDR, other supplier critical milestones, supplier quality audits, and supplier performance assessments.
Preform stock purges on nonconforming materials and generate MES nonconformance tags accordingly.
Work with other NGC sites, St Augustine, Moss Point, Palmdale, Redondo, El Segundo etc. for impact and reach across. Provide Supplier Quality (SQ) leadership for the program and is the point of contact for all supplier related activities and actions.
Ensure comprehensive data driven Supplier Surveillance plans are generated and implemented across the NGAS Supply base.
Actively participate in Supplier performance reviews, collaborating with SQ leadership teams to identify and drive SQ actions to closure.
Ensure adequacy and effectiveness of Supplier audits
Assist key suppliers in the resolution of significant issues that are and/or are likely to have a business-wide impact by working cross functionally with engineering, quality, procurement, program team members and operations leadership.
Address risks and opportunities across on assigned programs and update stakeholders
Ability to effectively engage, communicate and develop strong business relationships with all levels of leadership and professionals within the supplier(s) organization, internal customers and stakeholders to coordinate and partner on improvement programs/actions to achieve and sustain high levels of performance.
Take appropriate actions ensuring supplier performance, including proactively driving corrective actions when necessary to maintain commitments to internal and external customer(s).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years' of Supplier Quality / Supplier Management relevant experience OR a Master’s Degree and 7+ years of relevant experience
Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, global supply chain, quality or program management to collaborate and drive performance
Rigorous knowledge of metrics, performance tracking, and data integrity
High level of proficiency in SAP, MS Office suite, SharePoint, or similar digital tools
Ability to obtain and maintain US Govt clearance and special program access based on business needs
Configuration Management Experience
Extensive knowledge in CAD Modeling and Simulation
QMS & Process Audits Experience
Root Cause and Corrective Action Experience
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Experience in managing a broad range of suppliers including providers of complex components/assemblies/systems, services, and commodities
Ability to assess a supplier’s factory operational model and walk a manufacturing line/process
Experience in conducting Root Cause and Corrective Action, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis and related evaluation tools/processes
Ability to develop strategic plans and transition to strategy deployment
Thorough understanding of Govt FAR/DFARs, Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, Quality flow downs
Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to manage quickly shifting priorities, requirements and overlapping deadlines
