Onsite – Niagara Falls, NYMoog Space and Defense Group is projecting significant growth driven by high levels of U.S. Department of Defense spending and continued desire for space exploration.  The Propulsion Business Unit at the Moog Niagara Falls site supplies rocket engines, propellant tanks, and propulsion systems for a variety of spacecraft, launch vehicle, and strategic defense missions.Moog is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to evaluate supplier performance and take action to improve the cost effectiveness and cycle times associated with supplied products. You’ll be responsible for optimizing appraisal and prevention costs associated with supplied parts, materials and services, through complex statistical analysis and problem solving. In addition, the Supplier Quality Engineer provides technical direction to Supplier Quality Technicians and has significant input to their performance reviews and is a technical resource in the areas of statistics, department operations and procedures and the supplier base.To be considered for the Supplier Quality Engineer role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
  • Typically a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Technical Discipline and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience in a quality role or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience should include inspection planning, supplier evaluations and corrective actions
  • Supplier Quality Engineers should have experience with measurement equipment such as surface plates, height gages, micro height, gage blocks, CMM equipment, etc.
  • Experience with formal problem solving and quality improvement tool and techniques such as 5-why, RCCA, 8D, DMAIC, etc.
  • AS9100 lead auditor training / certification is advantageous.
  • This position requires a full physical which includes bloodwork and pulmonary function testing.
  • Must have the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Primary activities will be to evaluate supplier performance and take actions to improve quality associated with supplied products while working collaboratively with other functions in the achievement of overall SQE responsibilities.
  • Independently manages NCs/CAs for assigned suppliers, including 8D management for supplier caused NOEs to Moog customers.
  • Independently manages ASL for assigned commodities/suppliers, performing periodic assessments and on-site audits as needed.
  • Ensures via effective communication and/or training and oversight that Moog requirements flowed to assigned suppliers are clearly articulated, understood, and complied with.
  • Supports supplier evaluation, selection, recovery, and performance improvement efforts as directed by the Moog site or Supply Chain commodities.
  • Performs source inspection/verification tasks when required.

Salary Range Transparency:

Niagara Falls, NY $80,000.00–$115,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Skills Required
