Job Description
This position is responsible for supporting the company and Quality Manager with supporting new and existing suppliers. This individual will perform on-site audits, lead quality defect resolution and support development of new and improved manufacturing processes with suppliers. This includes timely and effective resolution of all non-conformances (process or product related), liaison with cross functional partners such as Product Development, Operations (CCO’s), Sourcing, Supply Chain and Manufacturing in support of improving our customer’s experience through the delivery of high-quality products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Execute all supplier related quality activities as directed and communicate information concerning quality issues to a cross-functional team.
- Work closely with existing supplier base to accomplish quality program objectives.
- Communicate product development quality standards to existing and new suppliers to ensure they are implemented at the supplier as part of their quality control and approval process.
- Closely monitor and investigate all quality issues, determine root cause and implement effective containment, corrective and preventive actions where appropriate.
- Support data analysis and focused improvement for supplier related quality KPIs.
- Support implementation and maintenance of an incoming inspection program of purchased materials and components.
- Provide support and guidance within the quality team, including SOP authoring and revising for supplier related activities.
- Maintain color standards through oversight and support decisions about color match, finishes, defects & characteristics and rejection process. Manage application testing and approval database and records.
- Communicate with customer channels resolution of issues and action plans to continuously improve quality of products.
- Supports new product launches to ensure production process capability and controls are in place to meet product specifications.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance to quality and manufacturing systems.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

- Understanding a range of work procedures and practices, some of which are non-routine, which require a base level of specialized / technical knowledge. Acquired through some formal training or equivalent experience.
- Support program management and product engineering as required
- Requires the skill to deliver professional advice or direction or present opinions and recommendations. Use some persuasion and negotiation but not a regular activity.
- External communication that includes clients, vendors, gov’t agencies, and service providers
- Internal Communication that includes manufacturing, corporate, and other CCO teams.
- Makes minor corrections and adjustments to solve simple issues
- Modifies existing processes in order to resolve issues, updating existing work methods
- Work will be guided by specific procedures and well define instructions. The team member will normally not deviate without seeking advice or guidance.
Qualifications
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelor's Degree required in a technical discipline, preferably in Engineering.
- 5+ years of supplier quality and development experience.
- Well versed in problem solving techniques including: 8D, 5-Why’s, Fishbone, etc.
- Experience in executing PPAP activities a definite plus
- Basic knowledge in Excel and Minitab preferred.
- Must be flexible, dependable, and creative.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects autonomously while working within a team structure.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of individuals and handle coordination with outside vendors when necessary.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable proscribed personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to travel, potentially up to 25-30% at times
Certificates & Licenses
- Valid driver’s license, current vehicle registration and a driving record that is acceptable to the company. Minimum vehicle insurance coverage and ability to maintain vehicle in good repair.
- Successfully complete an MVR and Background check
