About the Role
The Supplier Manager NAD Software will technically manage software deliveries from 3rd party NAD suppliers (e.g. Kontron) within Telematics projects. She/he will be a main contact for the supplier, for the SW-PL and the Engineering team and for this she/he will need to have a good understanding about the scope in her/his responsibility area and the status.
Your Team
The Supplier Manager NAD Software will report to the NAD Supplier Management Senior Manager and will typically be assigned to multiple projects. This position does not have any direct reports.
What You Will Do
- Technical responsibility for the software domain “NAD” within Harman Telematics projects
- Responsibility for the software deliverables of 3rd party suppliers
- Planning, monitoring, and documentation of all tasks related to domain “NAD” and tracking of related work product integration (software modules) into the overall project.
- Definition and documentation of the scope, timeline, quality (acceptance criteria) to be delivered by the suppliers based on the requirements from the automotive customer within the statement of work (SoW).
- Analysis and clarification of (customer) requirements, interfaces, architecture, timeline, etc. related to this domain with the customer, the impacted Harman domains, and all involved suppliers on technical level (e.g., workshops, regular communication meetings).
- Organization of and participation in regular alignment meetings with the suppliers and documentation of the progress.
- Participation in regular meetings with the project team.
- If needed, drive escalations, define countermeasures and bring topics to closure.
- Definition of supplier related project plans and alignment with the suppliers.
- Monitoring of the suppliers’ performance in terms of scope, milestones, cost and quality and intervention to the activities in case of need.
- Specify and drive execution of acceptance tests for the deliverables and derive actions in case of non-conformance.
- Problem/issue ticket management related to this domain.
- Preparation of status reports for the Product Manager/SW PL and the line manager on regular basis.
- Support of the project leads regarding evaluation of requirements and change requests.
- Preparation of Statement of Work (SoW) and alignment with procurement, Product Manager/SW PL and line manager.
- Ensuring compliance to Harman internal and SW engineering processes required by the customer (e.g., Automotive SPICE – ACQ.4) and methods (e.g., SAFe agile) plus contribution to and participation in related assessments.
What You Need
- Master / or bachelor’s degree in electronical engineering, computer science or similar.
- Track record of minimum 5 years experience in embedded systems, preferably in automotive area.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience of SW development (OOA, OOD, OOP)
- Analytical skills and good system understanding in the embedded SW area.
- Knowledge of automotive System-/SW Engineering.
- Experience in technical coordination of engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
- Experience in working with (external) customers/OEMs and/or suppliers.
- Self-driven, autonomous, and systematic way of working and ability to help others achieve this.
- Knowledge of requirements-, configuration-, risk- and change management methods and tools.
- Knowledge of process frameworks and standards such as Automotive SPICE® and IATF 16949.
- Good English and preferably German language skills
What is Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Infotainment/Telematics systems and experience in working inside Automotive projects.
- Knowledge of automotive specific technologies (e.g., CAN, Automotive ethernet, diagnostics, SW updates, telematics etc.).
- Good understanding and working skills in C/C++, Linux, SW architecture (UML), MS Office tools, JIRA, ALM.
- Knowledge of Linux, AUTOSAR core technology.
- Knowledge of agile development methods.
- Knowledge of operating system architecture and inter process communication methods.
- Knowledge of Network Access Technologies (e.g., 4G, 5G).
- Expertise in working with distributed development teams.
