Job Description
Blue Hour Studios is a social-first agency that makes brands magnetic through work that gets shared, remixed, and talked about. We create at the intersection of culture, content, creators, and commerce to help brands turn distinct cultural relevance into demand.
Headquartered in New York and Los Angeles and backed by Horizon Media, we connect creativity and media to drive real business impact. Our recipe for success? We hire talented people from different perspectives (that's where you come in), challenge them, and give them every opportunity to grow.
What You’ll Do:
Our strategy team uncovers the interesting connections across culture, content, creators and commerce, that help brands succeed in a social-first world. We're looking for a deeply curious, culturally switched-on Supervising Strategist to join our team and drive social-first and creator-led strategy that pushes boundaries and raises the bar.
You'll lead strategy development across a portfolio of clients, taking ownership of strategic direction, research depth, and the quality of our strategic thinking. You'll partner closely with creative, account, and influencer teams to identify the human truths and 'social glitches' that unlock fresh, ownable creative territories. You'll also guide and support strategists on your team, helping them develop their strategic voice and deliver breakthrough work. The Supervising Strategist reports to the Strategy Director.
Strategy
- Develop social-first and creator-led strategies that identify ownable strategic territories and push thinking beyond safe category approaches.
- Conduct research and insights development to uncover cultural truths and audience behaviors that fuel creative direction.
- Own the quality of strategy briefs, decks, and campaign narratives, ensuring they clearly communicate insights and strategic direction.
- Partner closely with creative and account teams to shape strategic direction and ensure ideas are grounded in research and platform-native.
- Support trend tracking and cultural analysis to keep strategy informed by what's happening in social, culture, and creator spaces.
- Collaborate with the Senior Social Strategist on social listening, analytics, and performance insights that inform campaign optimization.
- Contribute to strategy development across accounts, bringing fresh thinking and helping elevate the quality of strategic work.
Leadership & Thought Leadership
- Guide and mentor strategists by reviewing their work, providing thoughtful feedback, and helping them develop sharper strategic thinking.
- Support strategists' growth and development by sharing your perspective and helping them build their strategic voice.
- Lead by example on quality—show what thoughtful strategic work looks like and hold the team to that standard.
- Collaborate with the Strategy Director and cross-functional partners on strategic direction and account strategy.
- Contribute to new business efforts by supporting strategy development and client presentations alongside the team.
Who You Are:
- You're deeply interested in social, culture, and creators, and have a strong POV on where social-first marketing is headed.
- You're a strategic thinker who can connect cultural insights and push beyond surface-level thinking.
- You have solid experience developing strategy and turning research into insights that fuel creative work.
- You're a clear writer and communicator who can translate insights into strong strategic narratives and briefs.
- You're comfortable working with clients and can present strategy with confidence and clarity.
- You genuinely enjoy helping other strategists improve their thinking and develop their voice.
- You're organized, detail-oriented, and can manage multiple projects and priorities without losing focus.
- You're curious, collaborative, and excited to take on more strategic ownership and grow into a leadership position.
Additional Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in social strategy, creative strategy, or related planning role at an agency or brand.
- Proven experience developing and contributing to social-first and creator-led strategies that drove creative output.
- Strong research and insights development skills, with familiarity in how to apply strategic frameworks in briefs.
- Experience presenting strategy to clients and internal stakeholders.
- A portfolio or work samples showcasing your strategic thinking and strategic contributions to campaigns.
