The salary range for this role is $67,040.00 to $83,800.00. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
Position Summary
The scope of this position is to lead the hourly workgroup to execute the finished goods production schedule. The workgroup is made up of equipment technicians, trades people, whisky operators, material handling, and general help. Regular tracking of KPI’s related to safety, quality, production, energy consumption, and schedule execution is required. Participate and lead problem solving sessions and working to improve our Lean manufacturing mindset.
This position will also have regular contact with our internal Quality technicians, Blending personnel, Packaging Materials personnel, Central Maintenance, and Industrial Relations as required. This position does require shift work, as well as weekday and weekend overtime as production demands require.
Key Responsibilities
- OHSA - Ensure compliance of Occupational Health & Safety Act (section 25, 26, 27, and 28) per Hiram Walker & Son’s Ltd Policy- Management-Supervision-Worker Safety Responsibilities.
- Customer Service: Efficient manpower assignments for production and maintenance, to meet schedule requirements.
- Quality: completion of daily process checks.
- Financial targets: track KPI’s and monitor variances.
- Communication: Ensure employees understanding and focus of goals.
- Process and productivity improvement: control cost and promote lean concepts.
- Manpower: timely payroll reporting, control absenteeism, vacation planning.
- ISO program: actively use CA/PA process.
- Direct supervision of: Technicians, General Help, Stock, Whisky, Mechanics, Electricians.
- External, regular, work-related contact with Equipment Suppliers and Contractors.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Software Experience: JD Edwards (ERP system), Kronos (Payroll), Microsoft, LDS.
- Experience working in a Unionized environment with a strong understanding of Collective Agreements.
- Problem Solving, root cause analysis.
- Strong Communication skills.
- Accident/Incident investigation.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Equivalent Experience: 1-2 years related industry work experience, 2+ years related industry work experience preferred.
Education
Required:
- Undergraduate Degree.
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business Administration, Quality or related fields or equivalent work experience.
