About the Supervisor of Operations Position

What You Get to Do:

  • Build Team Leadership: Supervise and coach a team of up to 12 operators, manage schedules, performance, and training, and lead hiring and onboarding efforts.

  • Operational Oversight: Coordinate resources, support budget planning, review project designs, and ensure operational integrity.

  • Compliance & Safety: Monitor regulatory compliance, conduct internal audits, and model safety best practices.

  • Hands-On Operations: Support field operations and emergency response efforts as needed.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) from an accredited educational institution. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university preferred.

  • Ideally, 5+ years in pipeline operations; leadership experience in pipeline industry a plus.

  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record to drive company and personal vehicles to perform required tasks.

  • Ability to obtain HAZWOPER and Operator Qualification certifications.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and decision-making skills.

  • Effective communicator and team builder.

  • Proficient in systems like Maximo, Oracle Procurement, and Enablon.

  • Knowledge of PHMSA, OSHA, CRM rules, and pipeline operations.

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:

Physical ability to respond to emergency situations. Work indoors and outdoors at all hours in all weather conditions near refined petroleum products. Physical mobility to walk, sit, stand, reach, pull, push, and bend. Digital dexterity for operation of calculator, PC keyboard and mouse. Hearing in the normal range. Lift up to 20 pounds. Speak at a normal voice range. Climb stairs, vertical ladders up to 10 ft. and tank steps as high as 60 ft. Normal visual acuity for reading VDT screen, pressure charts and control panel counters. Physical strength to open and close manually operated valves and pressure vessel (trap, strainers, and filter) closures. Must be aware of hazards associated with field facilities and oil/gas pipeline industry.

This is a Department of Transportation (DOT) covered job and is subject to all applicable regulatory requirements such as testing for the presence of prohibited drugs and alcohol as defined under 49 CFR Part 199 as a condition of employment, to include pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable cause/suspicion and fit for duty testing.
