Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Supervisor, Oncology Registry to join our team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. 

Responsible for the daily management and operations of the Oncology Registry. This includes management of registry staff, support of the cancer committee, coordination of all Commission on Cancer activity, including re-accreditation, and oversight of all data management activity. The data management component consists of registration and follow-up on all patients with a diagnosis of malignancy and certain benign conditions, retrieval, and organization of data items for dissemination as needed for treatment planning, scientific study, and to meet the defined requirements of an approved program in accordance with professional ethical standards concerning confidentiality. The Supervisor will lead the team in meeting the goals and objectives for the oncology registry/oncology program, maintain confidentiality of patient information, and represent the department with integrity and with the interpersonal skills needed to interact effectively with internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Associate’s degree in healthcare field
    • Two years of leadership experience
    • Three years’ experience as an Oncology Data Specialist, Registrar or other similar role.  
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • ODS – Oncology Data Specialist Certification (National Cancer Registrars Association) 
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Proven leadership skills in organizing, planning, and directing an operation and its staff. 
    • Interpersonal skills needed to interact with physicians, nurses, registry staff, department and clinic managers and other external customers.
    • Good computer skills with ability to manage database and query requests.
    • Previous experience with Commission on Cancer Standards

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field.
    • Five years of leadership experience
    • Experience in any other type of health registry OR other acceptable experience as determined by manager.
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • The ability to exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills. 
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Evidence of integrity, good judgment, initiative, and enthusiasm. 
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to supervise personnel including assignment of responsibilities, hiring and training of personnel.
